Paid a boat load but it is what it is. We are all in yet again as we should be. Rebuild can wait and will come once MacK exits his prime.

Let's go.

A late first
A 3rd if they win the cup
And Ritchie.... who's kinda had a down year this year. Not that impressive at the WJC, and hasn't light up the OHL as much as he did last year. Better to trade him than a D prospect.

For Brock at 50% retained.

Fair deal

Completely fine with this price. Don't really think Cal Ritche is much more than a depth player in his career. 1st is a mystery box. And we didn't lose Gulyayev (yet).

I like Nelson's game.

Nelson is the perfect fit for the Avs; we need a center who is a shooter/goal scorer. Mitts is still a top 6 C, but just not a good fit with our wingers.

Suck it @forsbergavs32 :P

Kinda surprised the Avs moved Ritchie. Crazy haul for Nelson.

Hurts to lose Ritchie but I guess that was the only way to outbid teams like Winnipeg (can’t remember the other teams).

Winnipeg couldn't beat this offer? The 1st is next year or later, Kylington is a bust and has no value, and Calum Ritchie isn't a super shiny prospect. Frustrating.
Really? I think they paid a premium. Which some people will shit on them for but if you see a guy you want bad and pay to get him, sometimes you just gotta give them props and hope it works out for them.

Good trade for both teams. Steep price but I'm sure all the other fans whose teams were in on Nelson are disappointed. I'm also not as high on Ritchie as some. Should be solid but not a blue chipper.

This is the kind of trade you want your team to make
