Awh Soda pop. Totally forgot about him, freaking loved him.Soda wasn't physical but he played a heavy game. He was hard to move from the puck and win most board battles.
Does this guy play that style of game too?

Good thing about Parssinon is he doesn't take penelties. So, should have a little more runway to work with than others.I don't know if Bednar has the patience to be the great redeemer of confidence, but there seems to be solid change of scenery upside here.

Yeah, it sounds to me like he's got all the tools to be successful in the Avs bottom six, but has shown problems with consistency. Hopefully he gets here and gets excited and buys in the way JD did last sesaon. Would love to see him really dig in and become the best he can be here.We have a lot of north south guys too, so some playmaking ability in the bottom six is welcomed. I just hope he fits into the system.
You don't actually have to be super fast, but play fast.
Theoretically intelligence in the bottom six is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Already wasHopefully this means, Givani Smith is sent down.
True. Colton seems to work on the wing better.New 3C? I guess they like Colton on wing too much.
Sometimes. What I think he needs more than anything is a defined role. In Nashville like I said they moved him around way too much, and from wing to center to wing.Soda wasn't physical but he played a heavy game. He was hard to move from the puck and win most board battles.

In Colorado I would like to see him just play 3C consistently and focus on becoming a very good 2-way center, which I think is where his upside lies the most.
On the other hand, his xGF% the previous two years was something like 55%. I’m quite willing to look past any stats from that dumpster fire of a team this year. The data on Parssinen looks bad. Amongst Preds, second to last in CF% (45.8%), dead last in xGF% (38.0%) by a mile. He's been healthy scratched constantly but got some time centering Marchessault and Stamkos this year.
The bottom line is I'm trusting the scouts on this one. Predators fans seem to like him and Colorado gave up a little bit to get him, so they must see something.

Smith cleared waivers the day before the trade so he can be sent down without consequence.Nice, I've liked what I've seen of him. He's a solid depth forward who can play C, and all we paid was the difference between a 3rd and a 7th plus a throwaway player for a change of scenery.
I hope this pushes Smith down to the AHL finally. I am so sick of watching him take dumb penalties and somehow not facing consequences. Please don't tell me CMac is afraid of losing him on waivers, no one will bother.
He probably could've been a first round pick if it wasn't for his injuries, he lost basically a whole year like a year before his draft and his stock dropped dramatically. Easily should've been at least a 2nd round pick.So basically Nash was close to sending him to AHL, but they can't, so decided to trade him for whatever they could get.
I am pretty glad about this trade. I think it has very good upside for 3rd round pick. Helps us instantly too.

Our management should be praying someone claims him. Needless contract. I'd rather have Steinburg (once healthy and suspension served) if we want a big physical presence on the 4th line. I actually kinda like his game.Smith cleared waivers the day before we traded for him.
Our management must be well aware that nobody would claim his ass.
Ummmmm what?Parssinen will be the 18th player (and 14th skater) to make his Avs regular season debut this season. Amazing.
