rantanen is a beast canes fans. he'll be worth the 13-14m. weird to see colorado break up mack and rants.

it will be interesting to see what they do with the cap space. part of me thinks they might go for miller.

We got absolutely bent. FLEECED. No way you're telling me this return is worth even remotely close to Rantanen at $14m AAV.

I'll come back to this in several years and be able to say "I told you so". Book it.

Shockingly, despite being 6th in points, I really don't think the Avs will miss Mikko's offense. Over the last couple years he's really lost his drive and energy out there and become more of a skilled passenge. IMO. Not worth $14mil for sure.

But I hope he gets recharged in Carolina and this is the missing piece they needed. Would be nice to see Carolina atop the east finally.

its the biggest since the huberdeau tkachuk trade, depending on what else is involved but huberdeau was viewed as a top 5 wing at the time and just had 115 points and tkachuk was coming off a 100 pt season of his own, add in weegar and 1st rd pick i cant imagine this deal toping it.

I don’t see any possible way the Canes finish the season with this set of centers. They have to make another move for a 2C, you can’t have Jack Drury in your top 6 no matter how good your wingers are.

Yeah I just said it in our board, there’s gotta be another move coming. You don’t go all in for renting Rants and then roll with Drury as your 2C.
