Who can be a game breaker in Carolina’s awful style under Brindamour?

Even Aho has never hit 90 points in a season.

Necas is finally in a free-wheeling style that lets him use his speed and awesome puck skills. There’s no reason to believe this isn’t the version we will get for a few years.
Saying Necas isn't a game breaker is just.... like wtf lol

Like I said, there's a very good chance he will take a step with us and early results look promising. Loving his play so far.

I'm just talking about what his perceived value was from Carolina perspective, and probably around the league.

Because he hasn't been one so far in his career. That's not an opinion BTW, that's just a fact.

Gotta disagree there. This would have probably been his second season leading the Canes in scoring.

Necas creates a ton of offense with his absolutely elite skating and silky hands.

He just doesn't fit what Rod the bod is preaching. Playing on a team like the Avs will change opinions quickly.

I will stick with saying he hasn't been a game breaker so far. But I will concede that it could be because of Rod's system. He certainly looks good with us so far.

But if we go down this path, I guess we should also remember this when looking at how Mikko is doing with the Canes :naughty:

I believe CMac stated he brought him in here to be our 3C.

But Bednar apparently talks to his GM about as frequently as he talks to his trainers.

The last game he was second in ice time among the centers with 16:26. Kelly and Mitts were 12 and 9 minutes.

I think he's starting to separate himself. Despite carrying dumb and dumber around.

Colton needs to pull his head out of his ass and start playing like he makes 4M, and LOC needs to move up to Woods spot. Maybe with Drury and LOC out there Colton can actually use his shot, maybe..

Makes me wonder if Rod's strict coaching style is the reason Mikko wants no part of staying there.

I guess it could be.

The other part of me says that he’s signing pretty much his final major contract.
Whether he puts up 80 points per year or 100, does it really matter at that point since he’s gotten his contract.

I would think the style of play of your team, once you’ve actually gotten your major contract, would be so far down the list compared to ability to win, quality of life, teammates, etc.

Coaches come and go. Rod could be replaced within a year for a completely different coach. Same thing if Rants goes to a team where he loves the style. That team could turn around in a year or 2 and hire Tortorella.

He’s likely to sign a 7 or 8 year contract. He’s likely to have AT LEAST 2 different coaches during his time.

Carolina has always leaned towards a certain style. It didn't change with new ownership either.

They need to compete while also being fairly stingy.

They tend to hire more defensive leaning coaches, but still try to play aggressive in a way with shot volume and possession.

How do you arrive at this? Mikko’s agent ran his playbook. Telling Mikko it’s a possibility he could be traded doesn’t mean he was told he’s likely to be traded.

LOL, the agent is paid to navigate this sphere based on his clients wishes. Either he didn't f***in truly understand his clients wishes or he went for the bag. With nothing else taking president.

Miss communication happens, but based on what i know and can deduce at this point. I'd fire his ass immediately.

Mikko isn't happy, his goal of being an Av for life was just broken, he's f***in on another team.

Sorry, his agent should know what he wants as much as he does or better.

His agent is trash, and failed him. f***IN FACT.

In intelligence as an operative, the ability to gather, and then formulate the correct decision here would be the most basic requirements of my job.

This is 1+1 level shit. They're both responsible, but the agent is supposed to take the mantle while he focuses on hockey.

The agent failed MASSIVELY.
