Targeting skilled players instead ofYea, there was a period there where the Avs targeted controlled entry players, I feel like that has been something they've targeted less. Maybe they are going back to that with Necas? That would be smart, their system relies on a quick transition out of the defensive zone (something that has gotten much worse with the replacement level players that regularly get played on the back end), and then controlled entries into the offensive zone.




I think Cmac had the right idea pivoting to a bigger heavier bottom 6 that could provide positive value in a different manner. We saw how worthless half the team was in the Seattle series.
But Bednar doesn't seem like he is willing to change up the style with the players he's given.
So if Cmac and Bednar are on board with getting the right style of players that's a good thing. No point getting more hard hitting guys like last deadline if Bednar won't use them effectively.
