Rantanen in 6 games since the trade: 1 goal, 1 assist
Necas in 7 games: 3 goals, 5 assists
Drury: 2 goals

You were the one who hated the trade so much. I figured you would’ve tuned in to some of the Carolina gamesHas anybody been watching the Canes? Like wtf is wrong with him? 2 points?!!
Hall also only has 1 point.Has anybody been watching the Canes? Like wtf is wrong with him? 2 points?!!
I was thinking maybe we buy him back as rental if Canes miss the playoffs, but I don't think that's allowedThere's probably a 1% chance of this happening, but watch Rants come back and sign a 7 x $10 mil contract with us.
Still shell-shocked from the trade and moving to Raleigh, away from the Colorado River....Has anybody been watching the Canes? Like wtf is wrong with him? 2 points?!!
I'm not going to quote all the posts, but I just find it funny/annoying how everyone just plain ignores 7/9 years Rantanen played here and just focuses on the last one and a half seasons.
"Rantanen was not a line driver, he just leeched off from MacKinnon and Makar and advanced stats back that up".
Yes, during the last two seasons this was the case. Not so much for the previous 7 though, and you can look at advanced stats there too. There were one or two seasons there where Rantanen actually produced better without MacKinnon, and MacKinnon's production was brought up when playing with Rantanen.
It might've been the right time to cut bait with Rantanen, if his best years are already in his past. Necas seems to be trending upwards. We should be happy for that. Don't have to resort to bashing and full out lying about what Rantanen was able to achieve with this team.
Well, that’s obviously going to be the case. The discussion around Rantanen was always about his FUTURE contract extension. What he did in Colorado for his career is remarkable. But the reality is, when signing someone for the next 8 years, you’re going to put far more emphasis on his last year and a half vs his first 7.I'm not going to quote all the posts, but I just find it funny/annoying how everyone just plain ignores 7/9 years Rantanen played here and just focuses on the last one and a half seasons.

Holy hot takes after 2 weeks…
Rants is one of the best offensive players in the league it’s just a matter of time (though I do think his stats will take a dip in Carolina).
Hopefully Necas can keep up his production.
You just wanted us to give him a thank you retirement contract out of respect even though it meant sabotaging the futureI'm not going to quote all the posts, but I just find it funny/annoying how everyone just plain ignores 7/9 years Rantanen played here and just focuses on the last one and a half seasons.

Like I said, I've come to terms with the trade and so far it does look great for the Avs. While I think Mikko will eventually pick up his game, it's probably more likely what we've seen from Mikko the last two seasons is what Mikko is going forward. They made the right call if that is the case.Sorry, why would we project based on 7 previous years instead of the most recent 2 years?
How does that make any sense?
You only have to look a few posts above, and see what I'm talking about.I don’t think anybody discredits what Rantanen achieved as an Av. He’s the best winger in the history of this franchise.
Why are you putting words in my mouth? I've already said many times in this thread (and some others) that I'm fine with the trade. Jesus f***ing christ. You just wanted us to give him a thank you retirement contract out of respect even though it meant sabotaging the future
Rantanen is not going to continue to be as bad as he has in his first 6 games. But there are holes in his game, without 29 covering them up, they are very obvious.Holy hot takes after 2 weeks…
