Isn't Middlestadt supposed to be a bit soft?
He's definitely not the strongest guy out there. When he's not mired in a death spiral slump, he competes and plays a two-way game but definitely doesn't play heavy.

I think Boston is a good fit, I think he will have a chance to get some good offensive minutes as the Bruins re-tool.

Wow...massive overpayment here. Zellers was probably the Avs best forward prospect outside of the now departed Ritchie. He's been lights out in the USHL and has a real sniper's nose for the net. He's a project but he's got legit scoring upside.

Not sure why the Avs had to add Zellers and a 2nd. Casey doesn't have a great contract given his play this year but it was perfectly fine based on his two previous years.

Pretty ridiculous use or resources, even if I like Coyle on the Avs.

I’ll wait to see the final trade before declaring anything. Mitts was not good for some time here however. The added pieces leads me to believe they are getting more than just coyle.

Pretty happy with this return. Not sure about MIdd, but a 2nd makes any imbalance favorable for the Bruins
Zellers is a good prospect too. Third round pick trending well.

You got Casey, a 2nd and a 3rd+ value back for a 33 year-old Coyle.

That's a mighty fine re-tool move. And way more value than Coyle should have or a complete market undervaluation / buy-low of Mittelstadt.

Coyle's a class guy and was a very good #3 C on the 2019-2023 teams, but after Bergeron and Krejci left and he got forced to take top line minutes and face opposing top lines, it was ugly. Plus he's five years older than he was in 2019, which didn't help. He overachieved like a lot of the Bruins in the regular season last year, but Barkov ate him alive in the playoffs, and this year's been a mess. Hopefully he does well in Colorado's playoff run getting 3rd line minutes since they have world class depth above him in the lineup.
