It’s all the for the best.

Tank commander Martin St. Louis will deliver us a top 4 pick this year (Hagens, Misa, Martone or Schaefer) and McKenna next year.

This team needs elite talent and Marty will get us that. He just doesn’t know it yet but he will.

An elite coach would extract more from this team and get us a mid pick (#10-#16). But that wouldn’t do anything in the long run...

Yeah, losing badly every night is good for young guys development. Let’s just keep getting rolled for a few more years, that will fix everything.

And if Hagens / Misa / Martone need 5 years and they don't get McKenna (at most 25% chance), then what ? Let s have that product on the ice for 20 years ?

Why Dach played after his atrocious mistake on the equalizer? If you shoot from that angle from that far you need to hit the net, but he had no chance to score from about 40 feet with a wrister. He caught off guard three of his teamates movings toward the offensive zone. The right play was to softly dump the puck. Again, it shows no understanding of situational hockey. It seems coaches are not coaching, or Dach is just dumb, And to make things worst, Marty the genius, sent him on the ice at the end of overtime and we saw what happened. Way to go Marty!!!
Since the season started, only Slaf has been benched and truely demoted...and he as yet to play as attrociously as some other players on the team have. Also, he's "role" on the ice isn't maximizing his skills and talent (like where he's placed on the PP).

The way things are going, Slaf is either going to ask for a trade or MSL gets fired.

The getting complety outshot almost every game after 20ish games is a pretty bad sign. Implementing a new system is certainly going to come with growing pains, which is why I abstained from criticizing Marty too much so far. But at some point some indicators have to point in the right direction, before the positive results can start to pile in. Sadly, I'm not seeing that right now and we're about a quarter into the season already.

Hopefully Kent can help because we lack talent too but it won't be easy as many teams are in the same boat as us, which will drive up the price of the few available players. Despite the lack of talent, there's no excuse to look that much worse than last year. This is puzzling.

Completely agree. Having Slafkovsky in front of the net on the PP is the dumbest move possible. It's not a place to pick up points. It's a position to simply screen the goalie, so other people pick up points. He was great on the RW wall last year, and that's where he needs to be.

But, that position has been given to Dach, who is doing nothing out there. Lol Dach got a one-time demotion to 4th line & has never been benched despite being our dumbest player by far.

Slafkovsky needs to be away from Dach, but MSL has Dach stuck to him like a parasitic twin.

Why the coach hasn’t put back together the one line he knows works is beyond me. Let your three best forwards get going, juggle the rest to find chemistry. Instead he’s letting everyone flounder now.

We missed the boat on Montgomery.
I wonder if they even talked to him or do they think that Marty is the one to take them to the promise land ?At this point it doesn't look like it .Looks like he doesn't have a clue.Looks like he has lost the dressing room. What good is having top 5 draft picks when you can't develop them?

There has to be some changes coming...............the boys upstairs wanted some improvement, and we are not seeing it from the team or the coaches....In the mix...............was the goal. Basically everyone pretty much has $hit the bed.
Expecatations have changed, but nothing else has..................accountability folks, there needs to be some at this point.

Can anyone see us ripping off a 4-5-6 game win streak? We look the same, or some nights worse than last year. MSL is the captain.

I am OK with that part. Slaf is the best player in front of the net other than Gally (who is not part of long-term plan) and is a key reason why our PP is @21,4% (17,5% last season) even if he does not get points for his hard work. Within one year, Dach should be replaced by Demidov, Matheson by Hutson and Caufield might be replaced by Laine, but Slaf will still have his position there.
The only problem is, he cannot shoot from there therefore he lacks scoring chances and goals which led to this mental slump. MSL idiot decisions with constant line changes and sticking him with Dach only multiplied it.

We had a six or seven game stretch of improved play. Now we’ve followed it up with two clunkers. That’s not good. Already a six game losing streak into the year and we’re about a quarter in.

The question was whether or not that little streak was a trend or a blip and it’s looking like the latter. I was hoping we’d be able to salvage the rest of the year but I don’t see that happening now.

Mtl., QC.
Pp1:
Caufield - Gallagher (net) - Suzuki
Hutson - Xhekaj

A) Xhekaj has a +100mph shot. We NEED to use it. It will create more opportunities for our forwards if we have a point shot.

B) Gallagher is the only one on this team who can score garbage goals and who is willing to receive hits.

Pp2:
Dach - Roy (net presence) - Slafkovsky
Matheson - Guhle

We saw it last year with Anderson, he was awful, low effort and kept getting opportunities in the top 6. Andy didn't improve shit over the season because Anderson wasn't playing "his" game last year...and it shouldn't have taken the whole year to fix that.

Slaf is Anderson from last season, except he's dumped into the doghouse. But Slaf is trying to play something that isn't his game, it's not just the screen thing, it start at zone exit. Slaf is aware that what he's trying to do isn't "his game" too. The puzzling thing is why it haven't been fixed yet. Especially with the 4 days and 5 days breaks the team had since the season started. He actually got worst after the last 5 days break...

Slaf's problem aren't "pet talks" to boost his confidence, someone is litterally trying to change how he play the game from last year... (and according to Slaf that's not MSL, but I suspect there is some MSL in there, see Andy of last season).

Yeah I'm ready to move on from the experiment , he is a good tank commander mais ya des limites. MSL's entire tenure has been showing 2 moves to caufield in practice in his first year lmao
It's obvious that Vincent is the next one.
Wouldn't be suprised one bit , clown organisation , joke league wide

Monahan trade let to Michael Hage, so did Lehkonen. What about Kulak for Hutson? Is that good enough trade? Petry trade was excellent as well.
Yeah but it's not enough. Toffoli bring Heineman, nothing to compare. Habs traded a lot of veterans players for little in return. Hutson was a second round pick and it happened to be an hit. A bit of luck too. Hage will be good if he doesn't get injured or he doesn't stop jis progression. In 3 years Hage will come here to become what? A second center or a 3rd center? Who will be that center better than Suzuki? I don't see anyone in the prospects except maybe, maybe Hage.

Who will be the second center next year? Dach? Not Dvorak, he will be gone and he sucks anyway. Not Evans, or I hope not. So there will be only Suzuki as a good center for how many wingers? Caufield, Slaf, Laine and Demidov. Suzuki will double shift to be the center of all these wingers? He will be playing 40 minutes a game?
