Get MSL has secret boys club written all over this with Lecavalier and Hughes in the org. Imagine passing up people like Quenneville for a peewee coach or even our AHL coach for MSL

Quenneville was suspended from October of 2021 until July of this year, so he was always off the table as an option. I still don't think he was ever a good option for them, I think he would be better off with someone closer to contention who decides to fire their coach (i.e. Boston, Nashville). Vincent only just got the job in Lavel and is only 7 games into the season. I don't think it's any secret that the reason MSL got hired is because of his playing career, his politicking, or his friends.

What do we know though? In terms of having any credible context?

I do agree he needs someone near him to lean on though. However, I think fans/media are expecting too much. The narrative heading into this season was to improve and we are what... 10 games in?

I honestly believe that even if we had the best coach in the NHL, he will say there is too much youth and especially on D. Depth at center is meh after Suzuki. Dach has to prove he can be the guy we think he can be.
Marty doesn't know how to teach systems. Why you bring guys with years of experience doing it

Everyone is passing up on Quenneville.

He is a radioactive, dinosaur who has won two rounds of hockey in the last 10 years, participated in a rape coverup and then wrote a letter of recommendations to said rapist so he could get another position where he'd prey on young athletes.

If anyone is dumb enough to hire him as HC, it's going to end up a massive Babcock-like train wreck.

I also question the sanity of anyone who wants a 66 years old coach at the helm of a rebuild. Is this guy supposed to patiently build a competitive roster and eventually get to the playoffs using a walker or something?

This team is fine with losing and living in the illusion they are not far from succeeding. They are very happy with themselves from management to the coach to the players. They have not achieved anything yet that would be nice for somebody to remind them of this fact.

Getting outshot 34-16 by WSH is not just one time thing : 33-25 outshot on average. Team does not get the puck in the neutral zone, team does not make a good job once they have lost it in their own zone and when cycling in their Ozone the puck seldomly reaches to the net because there is no traffic in front of the net...

What is sad is that many fans are becoming happy with this, which is something I really don't understand

I wasted another 45 minutes watching the third.

I'm tired of watching the pp, them getting hemmed in, getting beaten at the puck.

Pretty much tired of wasting time on them.

And the worst of all and , by far, half way through the period, CC gets the puck in our zone, 15 ft from the blueline and fires it at the boards. Not down the boards, but AT the boards and a Cap gets the puck. It looked like a fustration "**** it" clearance. It looks like he had given up.

This team is falling apart. Half of it goes to the team and half to SmartyMarty who is losing them.

Lastly...on principle, I don't even want to pay 5 bucks to watch this level of incompetence

Imo the lack of structure is a big reason why they make too many mistake, to me that is not the right way for developpement of our young players

From the time Eve said to Adam.."you eat the damn apple, I'm going partying with the girls"...you can bet the kids are going to push back by not listening to Marty.

Then you got no development, no future and the 2030 rebuild...
That's why Hughes needs to trade someone. And if that doesn't jolt the team ass, then he might as well sell the rest too. If the players can't act like professionals, there is no reasons to keep them around, especially during a rebuild.

Starts the 5 on 3 with Armia. He proceeds to call a timeout. Then, he replace Armia by Dvorak, while our best winger and first overall sit on the bench.

Enough said. I don’t know how some here can still defend the guy.
yes the most useless forward on the team, time to wave him so marty doesn't use him anymore

I lost confidence on him recently. Definitely. The Armia and Dvorak on the 5 on 3 or 5 on 4.
Sorry for him but he can't do the job. He reward the worst players who are also vets in their way to leave the team next spring anyway. There is absolutely no system in his game. Or if there is a system, it's the worst like the man to man coverage in D zone.

He's there because there is nobody else available right now. And they just shot a popular tv reality on him. What a commotion if he's getting fired. But it might happen. I expect 50/50% he stays or he's fired.

Well there is a thread about replacing Montgomery on the Bs's board so let's wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised if the players lost faith in Marty, or at the very least, in Robidas.

Having the top pk with 90%+ in the league is over. Took us 2 games to drop down to 8 with a 83%. Feel like we’ll drop even more

the lack of accountability for Dvorak this season and particularly last night is inexcusable.

The talk isn't lining up with the actions this year.

The system we use is not sustainable. It relies on blocked shots because we give up the points so freely.
But what is most disappointing for me is I was looking for a much closer to neutral GF/GA as an indication of growth.
Frankly I'm shocked we have a better team on paper yet we are currently 2nd in the league for GA.

The lack of accountability runs right through the line up.
It starts with extended shifts particularly on the PP and goes from there.
Personal stats seem to be what our top guys are most interested in which means for me they just don't believe.
I'm good with players staying out provided we maintain possession but if a minute has elapsed and the puck gets dumped you HAVE to change.

The play isn’t consistent shift to shift never mind game to game. I understand the complaints about the French Dino’s behind the bench the passed decade… but can we meet somewhere in the middle? We need some sort of structure and accountability

if something as simple as appropriate line changes isn’t being enforced we have a serious issue

Somehow, this season, the defence has been so disoriented and disorganized. We have been often stuck in our end zone. And there are many little mistakes in defense.
