Has it come down to publicly shaming Dubas and company? Well, if the shoe fits........If it was done as a shot at the sissy team created by Shanahan and Dubas. Bravo. Bravo.

Not a fan of either but let's not let Wynne off the hook.Well with our Ontario leader and Toronto leader, im not Shocked, these idots have ruined this province.
Did the purchase go through?Haven't you guys ever played the Six degrees of separation of Kevin Bacon before?
Bell/Rodgers are part ownership of the MLSE and the Leafs, but Montreal Canadiens play out of the Bell Centre .
The building officially became the Bell Centre on September 1st, 2002 following a transaction between Molson and Bell Canada in February 2002 for the naming rights.
Bell Canada is one of the main assets of the holding company BCE Inc., formerly known as Bell Canada Enterprises. In addition to the Bell Canada telecommunications properties, BCE also owns Bell Media (which operates mass media properties including the national CTV Television Network) and holds significant interests in the Montreal Canadiens ice hockey club and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment,
- Bell Canada even attempted to purchase the CN Tower
Bell Canada to Purchase CN Tower in Toronto
16 September 2012
TORONTO, Ontario -- Bell Canada faces controversy over its decision to purchase the CN Tower some time this year. Following in the wake of Rogers Communications' purchase of the sports stadium known as the SkyDome and its subsequent renaming as the Rogers Centre, Bell is planning to rename the CN Tower if the purchase is approved.
Bell Canada to Purchase CN Tower in Toronto
Since Bell Canada has their hands in the pockets of both sports teams, and their link to the CN Tower as 3rd connection thus the colours of the Kings of the North currently on display.
Did the purchase go through?
Maybe, but are fans really pissed off? maybe a day or two, but after that no one will care. The fact that everyone is pissed off makes me love it. This should be another wake up call for the boys in blue. Your hometown is lit up in the colors of your biggest rival and the team that just bounced you out of the 1st round. If they have any pride, any guts they'll feel angry/embarrassed by this and come out better next year. I like it. For the record i'm fully supporting Montreal for the next round, destroy the narrative that the North is weak. If they make the finals I hope they get sweptbut win the next one for the North.
But this is great, the Leafs should be embarrassed for their effort. Imagine they actually cared and have the CN tower lit in blue/white. One can only hope this is another motivating factor.
Not sure, however the CN Tower is a telecommunications tower in Toronto as its primary purpose. Tourism its secondary purpose.
Its main purpose is TV and Radio broadcasting of which Bell Canada is its largest client with both CTV broadcasting and multiple Radio stations
The CN Tower has been and continues to be used as a communications tower for a number of different media and by numerous companies.

So even if Bell does not officially own it, they do operate out of it. So they likely have a lot of pull and involvement in this decision.

Fire Dubas. I bet this was his idea.
Not yet but I'm sure Tory is all over it lolHave the Tower people responded to any of the backlash?
Stop the fake news. Firstly, there is no civic duty when it comes to cheering for a Canadian team to win the cup that's a ridiculously dumb opinion.
In 2006 no flames fan wanted the Oilers to win
In 2011 CAD fans wanted Boston(as gross as that is) to win over the Canucks.

Glad I'm not alone there.I thought SaluteGate made sense after ridiculousness like fans throwing sweaters and waffles on the ice.
