Well the Golden Goal was scored on a 2 on 1 with two Sens
of course Ottawa players on the team as they didn't make the playoffs. One could make the same arguement the ot goal against Russia was scored by a flame or they wouldn't be in the gold medal game

Hate to break it to you, but the Raptors and the Jays are specifically marketed as national teams.

Yes, but as a Leafs/Jays/Raptors fan in the GTA, I kinda take exception to how people love to take shots at Toronto every chance they get but then claim our MLB and NBA teams because whatever outpost they live in is too much of a backwater to warrant a big league team of its own.

CN Tower......now this. Absolutely pathetic. Just when you think you couldn't hate Tory more.

This is getting even more lame. Apparently there is a flag outside the city hall

Toronto is still getting over the CN Tower thing and now there's a Habs flag outside City Hall - Article - BARDOWN

haha this whole thing was a troll job right from the start

and look at everyone falling for it, even Habs fans... they're like "oh thank you Toronto, we're flattered!!" LOL

people will fall for anything and everything these days

Owned by Canada Lands and subject to the our Habs-fan prime minister/boy king. This had Justin's fingerprints all over it. Erin O'Toole might just have won Toronto Centre!:sarcasm:

So you're saying it never happened?

I was in Montreal when the Leafs were playing the Bruins in game 7. While listening to their TSN radio show, the question asked was who the people were hoping to win, Leafs or Bruins. Not one caller hoped for a Leaf victory. I am 56 and have hated the Canadiens since I can remember so, I find it ridiculous that they would have a Toronto landmark in Habs colours, regardless of whether they are a Canadian team or not.

who said it didnt happen. of course it happened

and they did it to rile everyone up and set social media on fire... much like what many of these corporations have been doing this past year.. you haven't noticed?

This was explained many times over on this very thread.

While the CN Tower is (obviously) in Toronto. It's a federal property. Under their jurisdiction. They've had many color themes in the past. Supporting a variety of causes.

Being that you're a bitter Maple Leafs fan. Yes, I can see your point. Can't blame this on Tory, Ford or even Trudeau.

Some people (rightfully or wrongfully) want the country to get behind the Canadiens as they've reached the semi-finals.

On a personal note, being a Southern Ontario born/raised Montreal fan. I think it's hilarious. I'm clearly on the opposite Pole of you. And wouldn't expect Leaf fans to cheer for the Habs against Vegas (or anyone else).

This graced the cover of the Toronto Sun 11 years ago. Taken at Kilgours Bar Meets Grill (Bloor St). Local watering hole for us Montreal fans. I recall a few of my co-workers were ticked off at the photo.

Maybe Montreal can get lucky again and remove one of Vegas’ top players from the series. Either by knee or suspension. Apparently it is true what they were saying about the North division being the weakest. I don’t think the Habs nor the Leafs could compete against the remaining 3 clubs.

The remaining American based teams are better than anything from the North. Even a few of them that have been eliminated.

If you still believe Tavares' injury was premeditated/dirty. Think again. You're grasping at thin straws.

I'm rooting for the Habs.

For the first time in my life.

I hope they go all the way.
After everyone criticizing the North division it would be nice to see a team from that division win. The hockey gods are with them, they've had a lot of luck and just might do it.

Not premeditated but definitely suspendable, not the Perry hit but the initial contact was a knee. Wake up!
You mean the knee contact from the incident in this clip?

I could not believe Perry is the one who had to answer the bell for the incident, while Shit-rot flew under the radar, roamed freely, rag-dolling Auston without (again) a response from anyone.

Look where Tavares' left knee is. You can see it under Chiarot's crotch. Ben was mainly using his arms/upper body to initiate the hit. With his left knee is on John's thigh. Incidental contact.

I would say this might have pulled/tweaked something. Rather uncomfortable position.
