now that the Isles dummied the B's, I have to admit I'm a little sweet on the Isles, not that I'm about to run out and buy a jersey, my Mike Bossy game worn road white is more then enough for me.

that said VGK look very very solid a final between those two teams would be some real good hockey and a happy thing for the BettMan, two huge urban TV markets fighting it out for ice hockey supremacy in the unrelenting heat doldrums of mid-summer....perfeck!

Imagine the Habs winning the cup this year. They will have a parade and as Leafs fans, we are NOT invited. This is not the same as the Raptors or Blue Jays winning a championship.

Then next year (and until the Leafs win one) I can assure you HF Habs will be trolling us on a daily basis with "We are Canada's Team Baby!"

I doubt you'd still be "Happy and feel Great" about them wining a cup.

Team Canada just finished winning Gold in Latvia, if anything the Ottawa Senators are Canada's team.

I was really hoping something would happen where both the Bruins and Islanders would somehow both lose that series. Any pleasure I took in the Bruins' loss was offset by the Islanders advancing.

Well, i grew up in mtl a huge Habs fan since early 80s.. now live in Toronto. Ill cheer on the Leafs every playoff.
We gotta put the bs 1960s to rest. There was at least 30 years where there was no rivalry btw lwafs habs.. and in todays diva driven nhl, players flip teams all the time - they have no loyalty. So, when i cheer for Leafs, im really cheering for Toronto fans (long suffering) to win. I could care less about players. They live in the clouds.

Ps. I damn well cheered for Vancouver v NYR and BOS.

You are taking allegiance to the Leafs way too seriously. I would like to see a Canadian team win the Cup. At this point, if it is Montreal, that is fine with me. I think there is a line between being a fan of a team and being a fanatic. And the above kind of attitude crosses that line, making a sport and a particular franchise more important than it should be. The Canadiens now do represent Canada in hockey--the only team left standing that does. Good luck to them the rest of the way.
