Plenty of cap room for a rental, 11M+ available for this year. $0 dollars available for next season though without shedding a contributing player like Dumba or Fiala.
Next year 0. Only one of dumba or fiala is being moved in the offseason. Or maybe both will be kept, don't know. But dating back to last year including this one. Our GM doesn't want to trade 1st round pick, or top prospects. He's comfortable with trading 2nd round pick for depth because we are getting one back through not signing Johansson who was drafted by prior regime

I think to get the 2nd the Wild first have to offer him a contract and he declines to sign. I don't believe that has happened yet.

I would offer a 2022 1st, and Daemon Hunt. Maybe a 2023 rd if the Wild advance to the Western Finals.
I sure hope that Giroux can still actually play C, though. There has to be a reason that guys like Hayes were playing over him in the middle, or was that a "Fletcher"?

He's been predominantly at center this season. He's world class on the wing but more of a 1b at the center position. Frankly the drop from g to our next best wing was bigger than the drop between couturier and Hayes.
So Giroux is open going to Florida as well and Flyers are more interested in a hockey trade than a 1st in the trade.

That feels like a bad trade to me. Tippet is not enough.

He's a 23 year old prospect with 14pts in 42 games on one of the best teams in the league. He's hardly untouchable. He hasn't progressed as much as most people thought he would have by now. There's no reason he should be off the table. He has possibly been the worst forward on Florida this year by advanced metrics.
