I'd guess maybe a late 1st round pick or a couple 2nds + maybe a longshot prospect. Similar return to what DeBrincat got in a similar situation.

What would stop a playoff team from trading for him at the deadline, renting him for the rest of the season + playoffs, and then trading him for the same value that the Sens would get if they traded him in the summer? Nothing.

If your argument is that said team would be able to actually get more for Chychrun in the summer compared to what they would need to pay to add him at the deadline, they would actually not only be adding Chychrun for a playoff run for free, but would actually be paid to do it.

Unfortunately he’s not the player many of us thought he was going to end up. Me included. He’s much closer to Gostisbehere, than he is to a Hanifin. His defensive lapses are not what you see from top end dmen. Does he “carry a pair” better than Ghost? Absolutely, and that increases his value over a player like Ghost, even though their production is very similar. He’s just not a great defensive player. It’s why it’s laughable that anyone would suggest the Sens keep him over Chabot.

Production is all that matters for players in their prime. He’s not a prospect anymore. Has a big name, but his production matters most now. He didn’t become what many thought. Exactly why his trade last year, was much less (in return) than many anticipated.

He’s still worth what they gave up last year, or a quality player (or two) in return. In fact, a hockey trade is what they should pursue. 100%. Get themselves a role playing dman, and a very professional forward. A player who can play up and down the lineup, kill penalties, and give you 35-50 points a season, who has term.

Use Chychrun’s value, to place a couple of those “professional” players (they say they want to add) into their lineup. The days of futures have to be over in Ottawa. Use assets to better the team. Not the future.

There's no report Brady wants out. It was a made up rumor by guys that openly admit they make up rumors for hits. Do 10 seconds or research and save yourself the 15 minute essay. The same guy said he heard matthews won't extend. Another one of them said Sid wanted to get traded to Colorado.

Chychrun literally came out and said he didn't want to he traded. You're doing absolutely no research.

You clearly know nothing about the sens their make up or what they are lacking. They need to move chychrun to replenish the prospect pool and clear cap to go after a veteran RD in the offseason.
