Huh - I was looking for what seems to be an old rule about winning a face-off with your hands. Seems out of the rulebook now.

EDIT: Nope, I was right - rule 76.4

"Both players facing-off are prohibited from batting the puck with their hand in an attempt to win the face-off. Any attempt by either center to win the face-off by batting the puck with their hand shall result in a minor penalty. The two players involved in the actual face-off (the centers) are not permitted to play the puck with their hand without incurring a penalty under this rule until such time as a third player (from either team) has at least touched the puck. Once the face-off is deemed complete (and a winner of the face-off is clear) hand passes shall be enforced as per Rule 79. "

Jets were the better team but got goalied. It happens. Connor, Laine, Scheif, Wheeler were all not close to their A games. Laine's crossbar could have taken the gamr to OT there

Flames are pretty good. Gaudreau is a little embellisher, Jets got goalied, Nashville lost again, Jets remain with a 4 pt lead over Nashville.

Although Winnipeg is 4 points up on Nashville, it's still disappointing the Jets lost. We could use all the points we can get because once the Predators get all their injured players back I'm pretty sure it won't take them long to climb up quickly in the standings. I guess the Jets players just had too much turkey over the holiday break.
