I can see it now:

Toffoli - Suzuki - Caufield
Hoffman - Dvorak - Anderson
Drouin - Poehling - Gallagher
Lekhonen - Evans - Armia
Paquette

Romanov - Petry
Edmundson - Savard
Norlinder - Chiarot
Kulak - Wideman

Price
Allen

The goalies and forward group look pretty solid (assuming Poehling and Evans are up to the task). The D is a bit questionable though. A lot riding on Romanov/Norlinder.

I would switch Gallagher with Anderson because I want to see a line that really shut down the best lines when it's needed. Gallagher did that in the past and Anderson is a power forward that should be used to help an offensive line.

So my lines would be :

Toffoli - Suzuki - Caufield
Hoffman - Dvorak - Anderson
Drouin - Evans - Gallagher
Perreault - Paquette - Armia

I think Dvorak will do a lot of the 5v5 matchups anyway, so that's why I had Gally with him. But the concept is very similar.

Dvorak is more of a shooter than a passer. So while I like Drouin with Gallagher (if Drouin can figure out a way to not be a liability), I would put them with Dvorak, because Drouin is a playmaker.

There is a ton of possibilities. Hoffman with Suzuki instead of Toffoli for example.
There will be a question of chemistry I think. One duo that seems to work and won't be separated is Suzuki with Caufield.

Yeah I agree.

I'm not that high on Drouin and Anderson offensively or defensively. So hopefully we can find a line where they work, or else put them on the 4th line so they don't mess up the top two offensive lines or a good 3rd shutdown line.

Poehling was really strong in the AHL last year , I think he will start seeing success as he now has a clear path to make the team. While only a few months ago he was behind Danault/KK and some would say Evans.

I predict 35-40 pts season for Poehling , especially if he gets some 2nd/3rd wave PP time, could be wrong obviously. He just seems like a sure bet NHLer , whether he can be above average is to be seen.

Sure, I was not disagreeing with Drouin's choice, I was disagreeing with Gallagher playing with him.

I would play Anderson as the right-winger.
And put Drouin on the left side, he played his best hockey last year before Anderson got hurt

1st center: Suzuki
2nd center: Dvorak
1st and 2nd RW: Toffoli and Caufield
1st and 2nd LW : Hoffman and Drouin.

These are set in stone for me
I especially don't want 3 right handed players on the first line.

Toffoli had the best season of his career last year playing in the left, I definitely want to try that again.

I really like that forward group with Dvorak. We are very balanced now.

I truly believe that Dvorak can surprise and put 60 points. This guy got offensive talent and he is a great shooter. 17 goals in 56 games with a team like Arizona, he can put 25 goals in 82 games with Habs.

We have Hoffman, Anderson, Gallagher, Drouin who can play with him... that's a good wingers for him.

You do know he overachieved with those numbers, right? His shot % was the highest of his career by more then 2%. A few lucky bounces and some empty nets made the difference. That pace is probably unsustainable over a full season.

I am actually hoping he clicks with Drouin. Maybe his “hidden gear” surfaces then. That would actually be a 2 for 1 if both these players can click.

CD has solid wingers, he did not have such before
That’s arguable. He played most of last year with Keller ( who technically should be seen as the Yotes best forward) and Pitlick is very very good to drive possession even against the toughest of opposition. He had lots of chances to breakout but it still hasn’t happened at 25.

Hopefully it does happen as a Habs.

Soooo... Radek Bonk kind of guy?

People seem to praise his two way play so that's good... he's going to see a hell of a lot of defensive zone draws and PK situations that's for sure.

I hope he's decent at distributing the puck, but from only videos it doesn't seem like it's the case?

My prediction, totally out of my ass : He won't get 20 goals this year, but will get over 30 apples playing with quality wingers.

I think Dvorak suits the team better than that lanky Finnsih traitor... we will be very solid and responsible up the middle with some flash on the wings. Big year for Poehling. This could work out well for him.

judging from his junior points no

He'll be less effective in his own end as most players are but he is still a very good 2 way player and paced for 25 goals last year ie 1 shy of Phuls career high. I like him
Yeah sure he's definitely not as good as Phil in his own end but I think he'll be able to provide more offense and goals in particular. Should be a fair trade at the end of the day if Evans could step up defensively.
