Well, it looks like Chris Thorburn's time with the Jets has officially come to an end.

Why couldn't Chevy have just thanked Thorburn for his service with the organization and suggested perhaps in the future an off ice role could be available to him if he wished? Instead he leaves the door open to bring him back.

You are correct and he will sign here....but front office.
I think his playing days are done.
I think TNSE loves him and he loves them.
My guess is they told him ahead of time if he was selected they'd have his back.
He's seems like a real nice person and I'd hate to see him take further abuse.
Whatever happens I wish him the best.
I'd be happy to see him in the front office - I agree that he probably doesn't need to have any more knuckles bouncing off his head, and that he should hang them up. Seems like a great guy though, and having him as a part of the organization wouldn't be a bad thing if he can contribute in some manner.
