I disagree. The Rangers have multiple assts that are the type contenders love to add. The chances of them all staying healthy all the way to the deadline, especially the way this year is going, are not good.

Get the arms race going early and make the contenders respond to each addition with their own. Be open for business the entire way.

Well put, and 12 sots is a serious cause for concern. Never mind Dolan talking to know nothing scumbag Avery about the team. I still think they can get it together by firing the coach or making a good trade.

We must be watching a completely different player here.

Kreider has been terrible this season and taking him on at his full caphit would be a risk for Ottawa. Not the other way around.

The upside for the Sens is that he (might) gel with and get revived by Stützle. However, it's still a risk, as the downside is a 6.5M x 3 anchor.

Not sure how that amounts to Greig + 1st or some of the other outlandish proposals in this tread.

The Rangers' brass must agree too, since its just been announced Kreider will be a healthy scratch. Did you feel the same about Trouba's value?

I think he would be reenergized on a new squad, I’m more worried about back troubles. That can go from “oh he needs some rest sometimes” to LTIR before you know it.

Several cap floor teams would be all over it. Then in 1-2 years flip him with retention.

He has a NMC so it’s moot.

This thread already has some serious "Lulz the Rangers will have to trade multiple firsts to get rid of Trouba" vibes in it.

The team is a shit show. He's a power winger who is arguably the best net-front guy in the league, plays in all situations, and is coming off a 39 goal season. He's still pacing for 30 goals despite the team being an absolute tire fire. There will be teams looking to add him and I expect he'll carry solid value. The limiter will be what teams are on his NTC.

Maybe you can get jack eichel for him since kakko was off the table bc he was worth too much 3 yrs ago….ha ha. This thread is classic rangers overvaluation again… there’s a difference between a first liner on a down year in their late 20s or mid 20s, and someone who is 33/34 and obviously declining. A second round pick and a middle prospect and maybe a cap dump is what the worth of that player is. Not the same situation but when players like this fall off a cliff, they fall hard… Look at Skinner from Buffalo. They do everything wrong, but they were right that he was toast.
That is not what happened three years ago

If I'm the Habs and he's available, I'm 100% looking into it. There are obvious questions of the M-NTC along with his history vs Montreal, but I think he'd be a great pickup. We would for sure have to move either Armia, Dvorak or Anderson and depending on which one would also impact the quality of the +'s added on depending on how you view it.

Anderson + a pick for Kreider makes a lot of sense here. I'd prefer Dvorak but I don't see where he'd fit into the lineup for the Rangers. The only thing is if Habs fans can look past the prior hate for Kreids because that's a tough sell to the fanbase from the front-office POV.

There's a good amount of ex-NYR staff working for MTL nowadays I could see Kreider also being okay with going to Montreal.

A few years ago, I dreamt of seeing Kreider play next to Crosby. The blend of skill, size and speed seemed like he would be perfect, so just for nostalgia, I’d still love to have him.

Maybe the Rags would love a reunion with… Ryan Graves 😂

Id be surprised if he gets more than a 2nd + mid prospect & some contract going back.

Would be absolutely thrilled if a 1st came back but don't know who would do that rn

Around 35 games ago he was carrying the Rangers team on his back with an important hat trick playoff win. He doesn't use his speed but its still there. Not sure how his back has effected his play in the last 25 games or so. If his back isn't an issue teams will pay for a strong, fast, goal scorer imo. He had 6 goals in the forst 9 games of tge season.

.......what......?? 😅

Such a strange comment.
Whats so strange? That he was a scratch or rangers fans think they can get a 1st+ for him?

“It was just a lineup decision. We just need more,” Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said regarding the scratching of his team's most-senior player. “Any time you talk to a player about not being in the lineup, it's never an easy conversation.
