I wouldn't mind keeping Kunin in a bottom-6 role. He's young, experienced, and decently talented.

Everyone has talked about how he is only fully healthy this year. It makes sense, given how long it takes to fully recover from a severe knee injury. His shot is stronger, and he's getting to areas faster this year.

The Sharks can't run all rookies, and it's either going to be Kunin or some other veteran. It's a different story if Kunin regresses or his contract demands are too high, but otherwise, is losing a known quantity worth a 2nd-rounder?

I cant believe they are 11-26 on the season. its not that different from last years 9-28, but it feels completely different, like this year, they could easily be .500 or better. They are in practically every game. In position to win the vast majority of the games...

This tank is completely different from last year. But hey, it sure is starting to look like I was wrong about the final record being more like 8-10th worst. All close games, but an L is an L in draft rankings...

I'd like to see Goodrow riding pine, and I'd love to see Graf get a chance. I wanna see more of the kids. Cardwell looked respectable but not quite ready. Gush looked OK. Wonder how graf would look now that hes had some development time.

Id also love to give cagnoni a little taste. I suppose they can wait until the TDL when lots of spots will open up in the last month of the year.

Asky gave up a few, but he was OK. This team just feels SOOOO close to me....

Did it a few days ago, if the sharks won the games they lost in OT/shootout, they would be tied for a wild card spot with the flames and avs

No need to rush this year, draft position is more important than winning regularly. Griers done a pretty good of bringing kids up for a look.

Ummm... I dont think so. Theyd be 17-20. However, if they had also held all 5 third period leads over the last 7 games and won the OT/SO wins, then it would be 22-15. Its close...

BTW, I see this draft as having a clear top 4, right? Martone, Hagens, Misa, and Schaefer.

Would you guys be happy with walking away from any of those? We have a full 5 point equivalent lead on DET for 5th, so top 4 is looking solid right now.

Personally, while I would love another A+ defensive prospect, I am a little partial to another top end young forward. The forwards tend to be NHL ready a little faster, and I feel the sharks are in a position to be legitimately competitive for a PO spot (or higher) next year.

Love how hard Mack is on himself for the turnovers despite the solid game and 2 points.
yeah, he prides his two way game. He knows he blew OT vs. edmonton. Its good that he is owning his errors and upset about his defensive lapses. Would love to see Smith have that kind of two way mentality and killer instinct and work ethic. Mack looks like a future HOFer to me...

Agreed. No need to rush anything at this point. N oneed to acquire any pieces that dont fit long term and you gotta figure the sharks will be big sellers at the TDL. However, if they keep playing very close, good games, they will have a lot of value there.

Love how Kunin is making himself valuable. Ceci is playing well too. And of course granny is crushing it. The biggest trade chips are doing very well (blackie already cashed in). This summer is gunna be SO interesting and next week's camp will also be intriguing. Bystedt, Musty, Lund, Graf and potentally hagens/Martone/Misa could be competiting for a spot, and of coruse Dick will have a do or die summer as he has make the NHL to avoid the O. Given his year so far, it seems almost guaranteed that he will get at least the 9 game tryout. I hope he has a strong World Jrs to really solidify his spot next year. And of course, lots of action coming during UFA and the draft.

All in all, the sharks have made huge strides this year, and still appear ready for another big prize. This is shaping up really well.

Celebrini really likes to pull up inside the blue line and make a centering pass.

The problem is that none of his linemates seem to be onto it. It’s either the system not being implemented, Celebrini is a slow learner, or the rest of the team are ridiculously dumb and not picking up on it.
