jesus f***ing christ lmao come on man.

not only is it a ridiculous premise, you went 0 for 2 on spelling of these guys names.
premise is ridiculous? sez you

premise here is bread has nmc = check
and is family happy here so not waiving in general = check
but maybe waives for close enuf = also check

premise not ridiculous
value is top $ demanded but that is Panarin at almost half

Rs are more likely to keep Kreider, who defies aging short term and may play in top condition another 3 or so yrs before graceful exit another 2-ish yrs after that, unlikely to overcharge Rs relative to his production

Rs not gonna offer anything near $ amount or term bread wants
Panarin smart enuf to see that and will waive before end of next yr
tho not likely this yr unless close - maybe

It's a high cap hit for a guy who went from 77 to 64 to 75 points. Which version re you getting? Likely the 54 point one given his age. He also has a 15 team NTC so that limits options. & hes on pace for 41 points this year.
If you're getting any of those versions then it really doesn't make a difference at that cap hit, especially since all those versions were above 30 goals. Whether or not that's what you're getting might be a different story.

How about Josh Anderson? Two big guys that might benefit from a fresh start. Two more years left each. Kreider is more talented, but also 3 years older.

Rangers would save 1M cap hit per year.

Habs looking for offense while Anderson is not penciled in their top 6.

Just a thought.
Yes let’s give you the best net-front player in the league for your problem. C’mon people. Kreider is getting at the very least a 1st and a good prospect.

Kreider for Frederic? Posted the same in the Bruins-Rangers thread. Rags get a younger player they can extend, B's hopefully get scoring help.
No. Kreider is good and has value and will fetch a decent return. The Rangers are only entertaining the idea because Panarin, Lafreniere, Cuylle, Othmann, Berard, and Perreault are all natural LWs. We aren’t trading Kreider for another LW, especially one way worse like Frederic.

You knew the answer before you posted. Anderson has very little value. He certainly wouldn't be the main piece coming back in a trade for Kreider. Montreal would have to add a lot to get Kreider and get us to take that contract.
What about Kreider for Fowler? Top 4 LD making 6.5 for top 6 LW making 6.5. Kreiser is older and signed a year longer.
I don't see any party other than Fowler having an interest in this. Anaheim is probably on Kreider's no trade list. Anaheim, as a rebuilding team, probably isn't looking for a 33-year-old LW, and the Rangers certainly aren't trading Kreider for a 32-year-old LD with 1 year left on his contract.

The kind of player(s) we'd want back for Kreider are the kind of player(s) you wouldn't be willing to trade.

Fair enough. I was looking at from the perspective NY was trying to shake up the team but not substantially weaken itself, just more lateral/hockey moves. I had seen some fans ask for LD and Fowler would fill that hole. Agreed that Kreiders NTC would be an obstacle but maybe the idea of playing with Z intrigues him(long shot). As for the kind of player the Ducks are looking for, I'd actually argue he is exactly what we should want. More vet leadership to show the young players how to play in the NHL. A goal scorer which we desperately lack and nit a long commitment. Imo we already have too many young players. I'd love to see more guys that understand what it is to buy into a team philosophy.

he should not be moved he is NOT the prob
productive guy decent $ good value

prob is Zib, Lindy Trouba in that order

imo his name leaked to goose discussions
he is not untouchable and moving him sends a statement
but Rs are better off, as bern has said many, any times
expanding their window by repurposing their vets

lack of assists is due to total zib failure, not CK

That's just making a trade to remove money next season. I'm not sure they've gotten to that step, yet. This doesn't help the current team.

More at the deadline than now. The saving grace being that the expected cap hike should offset his cap hit beyond this season to anyone acquiring him.

He'll be 34 this spring. The stark difference in goals to assists this year is interesting. He's still finishing, but is there a glaring reason he's not driving play for others?

Fowler is signed through next year. Kreider is signed for the next 2. As for helping the team now, I'm basing that solely on the posts asking for a young LD assuming that LD was the need. Fowler will have more of an impact than most you are probably looking at in trade. I'd also heard/seen reports talking about the teams lack of team defense. If thats not accurate than yeah, I don't see this making sense.

Buffalo has their coach talking about needing more net-front. I would think they would be interested, even able to take on the full cap hit. I could see them putting their first into the deal and then offering someone like Rosen as a prospect in the deal but I could see the Rangers being more interested in Neuchev. The won't be putting Kulich in the deal so don't even ask. :biglaugh:

Man, given Kreider's age and contract- I would want no part of that. I would rather spend those assets on a top-4 RD or a top-6 veteran who isn't over the hill and has a few good years left before the decline starts.
