I agree. I still believe despite what some say he played pretty good in game 1

i'm a big kreider supporter, but i strongly disagree here. he was flat out weak with coverage. weak defensively. he looked like he was constantly trying to figure out what he was doing wrong. we don't want him on the ice against ovechkin. that's not to say half our team didn't play as poorly today.

people need to realize that the kid is never gonna be a defensive stopper it isnt his game. He is an offensive player like gaborik. Im not saying thats perfect but he can be useful if we use him in the right situations

He just needs to be let loose. He's gonna be a good player, just might take a bit longer than we thought.

Last year in the playoffs he was one of our better players, and it's because Torts just let him go. We need goals...so unleash the beast.

Exactly!! Just look at the couple of games after the trade deadline. Tortorella said to the new players to just go out and play. Now he has them playing in his offense suffocating system.

washington had last change. i'd be fine with kreider in the garden, but w/o last change they get the easy matchups. kreider isn't reliable against their top 6. he's gonna play less than 5m and that's not enough time for him to be effective.

he's like nash. he'll disappear for a long time, stop moving his legs, then come out of nowhere in the 3rd and have a clutch shift where he's flying up and down the ice breaking up plays.

Well...I dunno...but maybe we should also be looking for an AHL coach too . He had Kreider for almost the whole year...and he is not playing much better even in the AHL according to sources on here . Is it coaching at both levels...or is it Kreider ? Is he just too young and we are expecting too much from him ??? His ELC years are soon gone...

To be fair Kreider's first stint in the AHL was bad. But his second and third stints he was much more productive

really not going to get concerned with his development now during the playoffs, he likely doesn't have the sky high adrenaline he had last year, and hes got next to no offensive confidence right now, if he plays i hope he does well but im not holding my breath on him getting a legit shot to make a difference. Hopefully he can have a good camp before next season and get himself a legitimate spot.

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Kreider - Richards - Zuccarello
Clowe - Brassard - Callahan
Pyatt/Asham - Boyle - Dorsett

Get Girardi off the PP
Get Zuccarello back on the 1st PP unit

Nash - Stepan - Callahan
Stralman - MZA

Kreider/Hagelin - Brassard - Clowe
Richards - MDZ

is what I would try
First unit more skill oriented with trying to use MZA as the playmaker - 2nd more straight ahead drive the net kind of unit.

Anybody that has a knack on critisizing this change clearly then is defending the current PP strategy and their "stunning" results - which must seem like gratifying lunacy.

PK Units

Stepan - Callahan
Boyle - Pyatt
Hagelin - Nash (especially if down)

Our top prospect has gone from being our most dangerous offensive weapon in last years playoffs, to looking like the next Evgeny Grachev this year, and getting 4th line minutes while the team hasn't scored a legit goal in over two full games.

Fresh legs. Both teams are tired. Tyler Kennedy had fresh legs. He scored a goal in game 5. Kreider played in the same situation last season in the first round. Down 3-2.

We could definitely use some legs. Maybe he can help with skating the puck?

He couldn't be any worse than Pyatt or Richards.

Problem again is the fourth line is all wingers and no centers. I'd really like to get both him and Miller (as a 4th line center) in this game somehow. Problem is who would come out?

He needs a full season in the NHL before anyone can read where he really should be. He was on pure adreniline last year in the playoffs. He does have phenomenal speed and you can't teach that but he needs to work on his offensive and defensive skills in the off season. If he can become more consistent game in and game out then he should be in the top 6.
