omfg.

omfg.

no.

speechless in ****ing deed. One of my all time favourite vocalists. way too young.

Unreal. My thoughts are with his family.

Wow. Only 52 years old, which goes to show you just how young he was when Soundgarden was in their prime.

I saw them live at the Ottawa Bluesfest about 5 years ago or so. He really did seem fairly out of it and intoxicated.

"Cornell, who had been on tour, died Wednesday night in Detroit, Brian Bumbery said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Bumbery called the death "sudden and unexpected"

feelin sick about this ...unreal. one of the best singers in rock ...hard to believe.

I just... Feels like my heart sank into the abyss.

He left such a big mark on my life with his music. I thank you for that, Chris Cornell.

Rest in Peace.

WTF no kidding I just put on his Higher Truth album while getting ready for work and then I see this...

One of my favorite musicians from back in the day with Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and his solo work.

RIP and my condolences to his young kids and his wife.

For his former roommate Andy Wood and now for him. I had been looking forward to potential new Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog music in the coming year or so as he had mentioned that the TotD guys had discussed the idea of new songs etc.

Please, mother mercy
Take me from this place
And the long winded curses
I keep hearing in my head
Words never listen
And teachers never learn
Now I´m warm from the candle
But I feel too cold to burn
He came from an island
And he died from the street
He hurt so bad like a soul breaking
But he never said nothing to me
So say hello to heaven
New like a baby
Lost like a prayer
The sky was your playground
But the cold ground was your bed
Poor stargazer
She´s got no tears in her eyes
Smooth like whisper
She knows that love heals all wounds with time
Now it seems like too much love
Is never enough, you better seek out
Another road ´cause this one has
Ended abrupt, say hello to heaven
I never wanted
To write these words down for you
With the pages of phrases
Of things we´ll never do
So I blow out the candle, and
I put you to bed
Since you can´t say to me
Now how the dogs broke your bone
There´s just one thing left to be said
Say hello to heaven

I am in complete and utter shock. Before I changed my current user name to its current status my username on this site was Layne Staley. I had considered Chris Cornell to be just as liked/loved, talented and incredible as Layne was. 52 was far too young, and like I said I am still in utter shock. First Layne, then Scott and now Chris. 3 of the best vocalists/frontmen in rock history gone at far too young of an age. Chris literally tweeted just 9 hours ago about being back in Detroit. Now he's passed away, this is just unbelievable and way too crushing and sad. :(

RIP
