I wish I could watch Guhle's game. I had not seen too much offense from him in the future. It would be tremendous if he rounded out that part for the next level. I don't expect a big offensive contributor, but every little bit will help.

Edmonton take Game 1 with a 4-0 win.
- Guhle with 2 pts (1G, 1A) / +2 / 5 SOG / ** Named 1st Star of the Game **

Updated the OP.

Prospects in playoff action tonight:

- Kidney @ 6PM ET (Game 2)
- Simoneau/Trudeau @ 6:30PM ET (Game 2)
- Roy @ 7PM ET (Game 2)
- Vrbetic @ 7PM ET (Game 1)

I think he will be too good for the AHL. He makes the jump.
I think so. His skating is so smooth. He reminded me of a leftside Petry last night when Petry is ON his game except with a Weber type disposition in his own end.

He was very involved in transitioning the puck & joined rushes. Give this kid a few years to continue to build strength and settle in the pro-game and he's a legit top 2 D. The upside is definitely there.

Too bad Weber's no longer around. Guhle - Weber pairing would have been sweet.

I think he makes the jump too.

Could see:

Guhle - Romanov
Edmundson - Barron?
Harris - Savard

3 rookies on D?

And keep Wideman as insurance. He had a decent year and has a lot heart.

I doubt Hughes goes with three rookies but the future looks promising if done properly.

I feel the same although i can see 3 rookies making the big club but i see no more then 2 at a time on the ice, at least till December.

Harris, Barron and Norlinder.

I can see Norlinder and Harris swapping in and out.

Romanov-Savard
Edmundson-Barron
Harris-Wideman

Norlinder

Guhle, Xhekaj to the Rocket.

A part of me wishes he spends 1 year in the AHL with Justin Barron at the RD spot.

Give them 20 minutes a game playing pro in all aspects (PP PK etc)

Laval could be a real good environment and looks to be promising next year. The Habs not so much......

Wait out the end of Edmundson's contract and when you trade him at the TDL (for hopefully the equivalent return that Chiarot got) you move Guhle up to that spot.

Also, watching that rocket team with all our future players for 20$ a game would be a treat!

Yeah not alot of folks are mentioning Xhekaj but he might be a huge steal as an undrafted player.

I wanted Mercer in the draft but Guhle is proving to be a really solid prospect and future cornerstone on our D.

The best environnement for a player is where he can continue to learn and it won’t happen in the AHL. From what I have saw by Justin Barron, this guy clearly is nhl ready. Except he has a really bad camp, I don’t expect him to go in AHL where he played last year

Hughes in recent interviews has mentioned in regards to trading Petry, that he doesn't want to put the young D in spots they're not ready for. He said if he does indeed trade Petry, he will look to bring in another vet, which will enable the Habs the opportunity to be patient with a few of their prospects like Guhle, Barron, Harris, Norlinder, and Xhekaj.

Nothing wrong with them starting in the AHL if need be. It doesn't mean they will stay there all year.

It will be usefull for guys coming from chl like Guhle, xhekaj, mysak etc. But, from his few game he played in the NHL, he was just getting better and better before his injury. Thats why i’m saying he doesn’t need to play on a worse/slower league to improve his execution. But yeah, if he come back at the main camp and playing like a dump, I would agree to send him back to minors
