The quote comes from the College Hockey Inc. executive director in an interview with Brad Schlossman, so, even from someone who doesn't follow NCAA hockey, that quote seems like it's coming from very legitimate sources.
It makes total sense as none of the CHL has needed to be all that worried about meeting NCAA requirements until now.
Broadly speaking of course as each CHL team does their schooling differently, players will graduate high school on time or early and then will take university courses throughout the rest of their CHL careers. Typically, a CHL player who uses up all of their eligibility and then goes on to USports/Canadian university will have finished about one year's worth of credits before they even step on campus.
Clearly the way they are doing high school is good for Canadian universities but not American.
