Nope just players that may have a huge impact in the NCAA. Guindon seems to be the biggest so far.Are you talking about 17 and under kids that haven't committed already?

Charles Pardue is considered a big recruit? He’s never produced at the junior level. Chicago has a good program and culture, stemming from the Ryan Hardy days.Chicago Steel made the playoffs last year. Projected to do again this year.
That's like as good of a "down stretch" as it gets. No franchise can sustain being one of the few best every year. If the "down years" are still respectable, that almost says as much about a franchise as the best years.
And they've pulled in a bunch of big recruits in that stretch (Hage, Valentini, Croskery, Cloutier, Parsons, Pardue, Lapointe, Schultz, Sawchyn).
This is a great committment, he’ll be a top pairing guy right away. This is the type of player collaboration I envisioned it being, same with Mangone, Parsons, Whitehead, etc.Donovan McCoy (2004 RHD out of the O) commits to Providence College
He's a big recruit for a junior hockey team. Was part of the NTDP. Getting those guys to then play for you in the USHL is always big for the USHL teams.Charles Pardue is considered a big recruit? You’re both making solid points, I enjoyed this back and forth. You are comparing a lot of 1 and done players to a system where Quebec/Halifax will get 4 years out of each tender.
Under a tender system, Quebec would have Ethan Gauthier, Tomas Lavoie, Caleb Desnoyers and Maddox Dagenais on their roster regardless of where their pick was (possibly Masse instead of Lavoie).
Over the same period, Halifax would have Peddle, Lavoie/Masse/Poirier, Guite or Morin, and Tynan Lawrence.
Quebec would give up picks 12, 18, 20, and 4 for these guys while Halifax would give up picks 6, 11, 19, and 15 for the top guys though a tender system.
While it is a different approach, it dramatically favors the top teams in a league where they get years of control.
I mean, the NTDP players that played today are already committed to play college. Wrong crowd to attract. The players they may want to recruit are like 14 or 15, and not yet at the NTDP. Most of the NTDP players have committed to play college hockey by now, and they aren't going to consider the CHL, especially without being able to go NCAA at 17 or 18.Gotta think the CHL put the games in London and Oshawa for a reason- there is probably not 2 better rinks to go to and now these NTDP guys can come over

They can delay their commits and play CHLI mean, the NTDP players that played today are already committed to play college. Wrong crowd to attract. A kid that went unsigned in his two year post draft window and then undrafted in his 19 year old re-draft doesn’t scream big fish imo. Presumably he could still get signed in the short window for overage players and drop his commitment but only a few overage guys get signed each year.Nope just players that may have a huge impact in the NCAA. Okay, but the point is that it’s hard to believe that ship hasn’t sailed with this group. Most of these players will be playing college next year. And for the ones that aren’t, the CHL would have to drop the idea of not releasing their players before age 20. The ones that aren’t playing NCAA next year are almost certainly only spending next year in junior (or if 1 or 2 spend two more in junior they basically suck).I mean come over before college, no USHL, NAHL, OJHL, BCHL etc
The "massive growth" of US VS Canada has slowed down in recent years
First bigger commitment
I think their will be demand and backing for a high end league USHL in USA with nhl teams backing some as reported . i dont see that going away . However , i dont see that much sense for nahl league all over the country with 32 teams . nahl should be 16 teams like the ushl . ncdc should be over mainly because its paid by youth programs and that money better used at development or cheaper tuitions . CHL will be dominate league mainly because they have history , infrastructure- demand from local communities in Canada- in USA dont have demand .Last i checked you have seen massive growth of USA hockey players in the NHL in relationship to Canada players . In addition , the growth of nhl is USA expansion nothing with really Canada . Ushl been meeting with big time nhl executives recently why wouldnt NHL now give ushl some of the money they give CHL now ?
Got think 50-60% of ntdp needs to play 1-2 years more of juniors especially with change of landscape?going to chl ?Gotta think the CHL put the games in London and Oshawa for a reason- there is probably not 2 better rinks to go to and now these NTDP guys can come over
It's more of a loss for whatever USports team he might have gone to? But it's great for him to get another window for future years with an NCAA run following his OHL career. While getting the education. Win for him, win for Vermont, loss for USports?A kid that went unsigned in his two year post draft window and then undrafted in his 19 year old re-draft doesn’t scream big fish imo. USports or AHL Contract [which could involve playing in AHL or ECHL]It's more of a loss for whatever USports team he might have gone to? Bowling Green is going to be an interesting case study next year. They’ve added quite a few CHLers for next season. If they get to the tourney with those guys, could make veteran CHL players a hot commodity.Connor Levis (2004, Vancouver Giants, Winnipeg Jets 7th rounder) to Bowling Green.
Luke Woodworth (2004, Drummondville Voltigeurs) to Nebraska Omaha
