I think I'm just going to watch the rest of the game without posting/reading comments on here. It'll be less depressing, no matter what the score is.

The 2nd goal? Yeah, that's on Ward. Also Bellemore.

I still don't get the Ward hate. He's not playing his best hockey, but he's DEFINITELY not a liability. If you're actually watching the game, you're seeing us hemmed in our own zone basically every other shift, and Ward's made several good saves.

Of course, any point I try to make in favor of Ward at this point will be tossed aside as "Ward can do no wrong," so I don't know why I'm even writing this post right now.

See above post.

Also, I like how I've now been labeled a Ward hater because of one post in a previous thread. All of last year I defended him and I make one criticism and I hate Ward. But yes, please keep on keepin on.

Bellemore is young and will make mistakes. He will improve because of them. This board turns on every young guy seemingly.

But the Staal Boys and Ward? At their price tag?? I'm surprised are often given free passes. Hell Eric Staal mails in half the games every season. What a great leader he is. But he'll get his 70 pts. once we are eliminated in February.

I think everyone is desensitized from Eric's lazy play. Half of the board jumps all over Ward for every goal he lets in.

I don't keep track of who is a hater/defender. It's dizzying. I saw your post and responded to it.

I will say that we could use Komi in this game. A little experience and some strength. He wouldn't change the flow but it would be helpful. I think if Murphy deserved in some way to sit and watch for a night then bellemore could use a bit if the same, we're relying too much on kids in games like this, we have a capable vet sitting in the press box. Thought he looked fine when he played last. He may be slower of foot than bellemore but he's more confident with what to do with the puck when he gets it, more confident in positioning.

I like bellemore and don't blame him for any of this. I think we could use Komi more than we've used him is all. This game seems to be a good example.

Right about now I can honestly say that I wish we had Pitkanen. He could transition out of our zone very effectively.

Tripp (gulp) is right, the details aren't being performed by the Canes. That's an effort issue, not a system issue. Plus, Chicago is damn good. Shots 15-5 after one, HANG WARD !!!
