I got here just in time to see the second half of O.T and the shootout, so I won't speak to the rest of the game.

Frankly, I don't care if we deserved to make it to extra time or not. The fact that we can't close out this **** is beyond frustrating. Since 2011-2012, we are 6-24 in extra time situations. 6 and ****ing 24. That's unacceptable if we ever want to pose as a competitive team.

As heroic as this effort was, at some point we need to win games.

That being said, I'll take the point, and hope that the loss didn't offset the momentum we gained by playing a heck of a 2nd and 3rd period (and our best OT so far).

That's like Ron Rivera's record in one possession games.

Can't say Im happy with the 1 point because it's time for this team to take a step and ****ing win when given the chance.

But whatever, take it and run.

Honestly though, do we ever even SCORE in shootouts?

I thought Ward played the first and second shooters beautifully. Deked out of his jockstrap on the 3rd, but in fairness it was a pretty good move. Overall it was an above average shootout performance as well.

2 wins in 7 games

We're going to have to Florida Panthers our way into the playoffs this season.

Eh...**** it. I'll take it if it works.

Not happy with the 1 point. Chicago really mailed it in after the first period. Hurricanes were the better team across all 3 periods and OT, we deserved the win. I would say we are the worst team in the league when it comes to OT/Shootouts, but NJ says hello. At least we aren't NJ??

Ward played quite well after the second goal - I'm one of those who thinks he's on his last legs, but if he keeps this up, I'll have reason to change my mind.

Pro's: Ward after the 2nd goal. Great game from him.

Smurphy had both great and terrible defensive plays, but offensively he was incredibly impressive. He's also very good at making the simple, safe play if he gets pinned in the offensive zone.

Faulk was solid, per usual.

Skinner was again our best forward, but not really a great night from them.

Con's: Bellemore and Hainsey got abused. On the first goal, Hainsey pinched with no one to cover, then Bellemore got beat after trying to play the puck. Second goal, Bellemore whiffs on a clear, then Hainsey just pokes it to Marian Hossa.

I'm starting to miss Gleason a lot more.

I've finally seen the light....

Muller is the best coach in the league, Semin has no business in the "greatest hockey league in the world" :)laugh:), and Ward is God

I feel so much better now.

Bellemore is like Bobby Sanguinetti, but slower and with zero offense.

Ruutu looked really good.

Murphy, when he's unleashed, is fun to watch. The lines must be fighting over who gets to play with him.

I give Muller a C. A better coach would have told Skinner and Gerbe to score during the shootout.

I don't think you understand English all that well...because literally no one says this.

Also, do you actually think the NHL ISN'T the best league in the world?

after watching this game at ice level, I am now totally convinced that this team' performance issues are solely a matter of a deficit of leadership and mental tenacity, rather than skill.

Eric Staal looked like a child throwing a tantrum out on the ice after the first goal against, and took that penalty. Skinner kept running his mouth to the refs- no wonder they get him for diving all the time.

And after Semin buried one, they snapped out of their little funk. After Hainsey scored, they were like dogs on raw meat. For a period, they reminded me of the Cardiac Canes of '05, methodically coming back from the brink. And then you saw them physically deflate again when the shootout came, like they knew what was coming.

Staal is not the guy to lead this team. They need somebody who keeps them calm, confident, and focused at all times. And obviously Muller isn't much of a leader either.

I think that's his way of saying he was wrong. Except he has to do it sarcastically because he's dug himself so far down into various holes.

Story of his life?
