Thats not what anyone said!!! What was said is the difference for the penguins in winning round one and losing round 1 has alot to do with team grit. This has been proven. Combine that with sub par goaltending and its gonzo....taking away what little grit the team did have will NOT help this situation
In any universe on any hockey team that will exist. Ever. Sam Lafferty will never be the reason a team has or does not have playoff success.

And the only reason Pittsburgh went out in round one last season was goal tending. If the Pens had even average goal tending out of TJ they would have gone to round 2. So you are ether a troll. An idiot. Or both.

I mean, no. I prefer a steak to be well done so I guess everyone has their own thing.

A. Nylander just hasn't been able to put it together for one reason or another at the pro level. His contract is due up again, I wonder if he considers heading back to Europe this offseason.

Lafferty 1 point in 16 games with the hawks. -8. A 43% faceoff percentage. 11 giveaways to 4 takeaways. Shooting percentage running at about 3%. Man, the penguins are sure missing this guy.

Nylander 21-22 season stats from the AHL

12 points in 23 games for the IceHogs (0.52 ppg)
36 points in 50 games for the Penguins (0.70 ppg)
-----------------------------------------------------
48 points (25 goals) in 73 AHL games (0.65 ppg)

His contract ends after this season
will Penguins bring him back for the next season?

Alex's last game in the NHL was March 11th 2020.
He will be 25 next year.

241 games in the AHL : 55 goals and 79 assists
92 games in the NHL : 13 goals and 19 assists

Lafferty 21-22 season stats from the NHL

2 points in 10 games for the Penguins (0.20 ppg)
12 points in 46 games for the Hawks (0.26 ppg)
------------------------------------------------------
14 points (6 goals) in 56 NHL games (0.25 ppg)

1+0 in 3 games for team USA at 22 Worlds

Hawks have Sam signed through 2024

Lafferty played through out the line up
this season for the Hawks, lines 1-4, pp&pk
and all forward positions,

Sam will be 28 next year.

141 games in the NHL : 11 goals and 21 assists
85 games in the AHL : 18 goals and 38 assists

I can't comment on Alex's AHL season, i wasn't following
much of the AHL, other than Finnish players.
- and my favorite Hawks prospects and prospects of other teams

But i can say about Sam's game this season, i was happily surprised,
considering what Pittsburgh fans said about him,
he was supposed to be absolute trash,
who couldn't play hockey at all.

Loved his skating, his 120% effort for every shift,
he really tries and loves to play hockey, his surprisingly
soft mittens in dekes, holy moly he has some sweet
moves!

He has some rough edges, his head is not
always with the body and he does make silly mistakes
but, right coaching, proper role, he will be important
for the Hawks bottom six, he can bring little of bit
everything.

I think Hawks are the clear winners of this trade

(AHL) Penguins already brought a new player to their fold;
undrafted Brooklyn Kalmikov, from the Q (Nylander's replacement?)

All Penguins fans are happy for Chicago and Lafferty. I am glad the trade worked out well for you guys. We wish you nothing but the utmost happiness and success with Lafferty.

I hope we can make future similar trades like this that benefit both teams.
