I really question if he will. I mean for a guy who was adamant that he start his pro career on an NHL team off th bat, he was terrible in the 3 games with Pittsburgh, and has been terrible for their AHL team. This reeks of a entitled brat, who wanted everything on a silver platter.
Rutger can mature and turn things around,a s he is only 20. However, it's almost as likely that his entitlement and attitude problems prevent him for doing much in the NHL, and ending up as a 3rd line player for his career, or worse, if he lacks the intestinal fortitude for the NHL,
In recent history, Cutter Gauthier pulled this crap off last year in Philadelphia, and was promptly traded to a horrible Anaheim team. Even there, he has yet to score a goal in 14 games, with only 5 assists. If anything, this makes it clear that NHL teams have every right to send these players to the minors for conditioning, considering two of the biggest whiners have done a big pile of nothing after getting their way, by trades.
After 2 months, Yager is clearly looking like the better player.
