Oilers play a stink brand of hockey under knoblauch. They have taken on the coach's personality. Barely watchable, especially at home.

Interestingly, they also played like this for stretches under Woodcroft last year, Tippett before that, McLeallan before that.

Jeez, what could be the reason for that?

This is also true. They are too non-chalant. They don't attack the net with force. Just ho-hum. Take some point shots and others with nobody chasing the rebounds

Yeah. Ekholm, Kulak, Stecher have been some of our better forwards this season. Read that how you will. hehe

Its just ridiculous how so many of our D have been better with the puck than the forwards. Ekholm has been the most dangerous Oiler tonight aside from Drai.
Mcfloater is especially off tonight by my eye. He’s lost something…it’s clear as day

Wonder if that injury is still there. He looked pretty fast last game. But he’s like 1 good game, 2 meh games as a pattern

hehe these are useful. Also can see how stuck in the mud Skinner is, fully committed to Tsyplakov taking the shot.

Not defending Skinner to the end of the Earth here, but I think his feet were planted expecting a shot but you can’t ignore that RH lost his man at centre on the curl, leaving him wide open for the one timer.

"Skinner had no chance" Oh sure Debrusk. That was the slowest move across you see an NHL goalie make. Islanders have had little going and they get a goal, a post, two empty net looks. Wish we had a Sorokin.

Watching the play again, I swear that Skinner actually twitches on the pass as if he thinks the pass is actually a shot. That's how much he psyched himself out, fully believing the only thing that was going to happen is a shot from Tsyplakov. Then he makes a little shuffle back and finally realizes he has to move to the right.

Painful

Disgusted at NHL requiring canadians to have more and more paid subscriptions just to watch hockey.

I'm not paying for Prime too and I never use Amazon for anything so its not something I would even want.

If games start being on Netflix I'm tapping out.

Ah ok, well I agree with that. But it appears the NHL doesn't think very highly of our opinions...

The slo mo Skinner slide. Note how pathetic that was compared to Sorokin almost getting to DRais shot which was perfectly lasered in. Like I say many times if Skinner had to face the Oilers he'd be in a lot of trouble.

Yeah, skaters all gambled hard there. Ekholm gambles rushing his man leaving another open. Bouch gambles on the next guy. Nuge, no gambling, just napping.

At least Bouch > Dobson.

Oh wait, that's not gonna be good when Lucky Lou gives Dobson 10M x 8 anyways before we even start talking with Bouch lol
