I wonder about that myself. But even if there isn’t some core issue, we lost a group of players and basically all of Bouchards buddies, Skinner lost his best bud and we brought in a bunch of new guys.

I think they need a couple of strong and outspoken personalities. A guy like Kane at times is probably great to have in the room.

I was saying in the off season I wanted a younger 4C, like a bonafide 4C not some tweener. But a guy with some speed and edge. We could use a little more swagger, a couple assholes. That’s a big reason people keep fawning over Kostin, he wasn’t an asshole but he ALWAYS stood up for his team and tried to make something happen, he brought energy, fans loved it and I’m sure on some level his teammates got a boost.

we have lost a lot of the players but none where integral to anything. I do wonder if losing VD has maybe “isolated” skinner. Losing your buddy sucks, especially at a young age like SKinner is and he’s gonna need time to rebound, its one thing to know the NHL is a business, but another to go through it and Skinner has had a pretty easy career so far. Im just making excuses, i dont know what’s up with anything. Just throwing things at the wall. Maybe McDavid isn’t the leader we thought he was, maybe him putting the team on the back isn’t enough and that might be his only card. Theres something up with his game he does not look like the McDavid we are used to and if he isn’t going we dont have much. Oddly enough the D is playing well, so is the team, but playing well isnt enough, we are in the results part of the curve.
