I don’t know who”they” are but the Wiz aren’t for real. They’ll come back to earth.

LaMelo gonna be the greatest Hornet ever.

On one hand that sounds like a sad statement considering the lack of star talent to come through here and the talent that left (Johnson and Zo) before hitting their prime.

On the other hand, the young man is really, really good. Players of his caliber don't grow on trees.

Of course the team’s history is pitiful and there are no true greats so yeah it’s a low bar. But LaMelo could become an all time great and we could easily see him on the top 100 that they do for the 100th anniversary. You can just tell the kid has “it.”

Rough one last night but Houston was shooting absolutely lights out and there’s nothing you can do about that. Also the refs didn’t do us any favors to say the least. Still shouldn’t lose to a team that bad but I’m still confident in the Hornets getting a top 4 seed in the east.

Girl burnt Kuzma so hard, he probably wishes he died as child.

Maybe just me, but I miss the days when the likes of Allen Iverson would show up in oversized football jerseys and baggy pants. Or MJ who would keep it simple and show up in a suit&tie.

LaMelo will probably ultimately leave too. Just how it is especially in the NBA. Only way I could see him staying long term is if the Hornets basically turn into the NBA equivalent of the Canes but given the Hornets drafting history and MJ's reluctance to spend, this seems pretty unlikely.

I don’t think LaMelo leaves unless the team sucks for a sustained period of time. And I don’t see that happening with Kupchak and Borrego here along with the young core we already have .

I don't think they'll suck like being a lottery team every year but I don't ever see them being a top team either unless they basically start changing almost everything about how they operate. Maybe LaMelo will be the catalyst that makes them finally decide to do so but I wouldn't bet on it.

Eventually the NBA media will do what they always do and suggest that Lamelo "wants" to be a Laker, meaning the media wants him to be. The fact that he's from Los Angeles will only fuel this fire. Whether or not he wants to or will want to is up to him.

For now though he's in the purple and teal, not purple and gold. Enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Lonzo got the best of Melo in this one. Really good game! Hornets need a center though. They got tore up without one.

How much have you followed the Hornets? Because the team has done a complete 180 since Kupchak and Borrego were hired. Kupchak has hit on pretty much every single draft pick, free agent signing and trade so far and has a pristine track record of winning championships and having success. Borrego may not be the coach to bring us a title but he's been phenomenal in player development and is helping build up our young core which is among the best in the league. The Hornets are 100% on the right track under this current regime.
