I mean it's hockey and Canada. If they can't go from 4 to 2 and he's in charge is that ok?

I don't want to get into politics or even youth participation here where I live in Boston it takes 5 high schools to field 1 team where it was 1-1.

But somehow in Canada it's worse no one plays anymore and in 5 years there will be more Americans than Canadians.

Bjtch boy Sweeney taking the blame fits my agenda that p***y hasn't traded Carlo or Coyle get I need him gone yesterday. He added f***ing maroon and Orlov and Hathaway too just shameful and what was wrong with him I want to light those dudes on fire not have them on my Bruins!
what blame is Sweeney taking and from who ? Not trading ? Not following

Love when Mac goes beast mode like that Canada game. Hopefully the Bruins get more of that Mac when they resume and hopefully in the playoffs

It's a 4-game tourney' playing for your country, against the biggest rivals.

Can't play at that jacked up level in the regular season. Even in the playoffs it's going to take a toll if your team advances.

No one should go big hit during regular season unless it’s a must win

You’d be crazy

You save this for playoffs

The NBA players skip games all the time the nhl players atleast play

Unless I hate the MF I’m saving my body for April

Not disagreeing at all, but I find it interesting that he finished some checks, as a defenseman should, and nowadays its called "beast mode". Times have changed.
To be fair, when you lay out arguably the best player in the world in a huge game - and one of the very fastest players in the league, to boot - that's a little more than "as a defenseman should". And he did it several times.

It was a big time performance.

It will be interesting to see if the Bruins player at the 4 Nations tournament come back with a jump in their step. The emotions seem to be high and some good, competitive hockey is being played. It would be swell if McAvoy and Marchand, and the others, are at a next level when they resume NHL play.

You're right. In a tie 3-3 game half way through the 3rd in an NHL game against a division rival with points at a premium, while you get paid 9.5M, you shouldn't throw a bone crushing hit.

This definitely tracks.

McAvoy has more to offer when he gets back. The other guys I feel are what they are

Can't believe someone that watched hockey before 2010 would have this view. I mean Bennett knocked Marchand out in the play-offs, you would think he could turned it up a few notches

So he should "take it easy" during the regular season and don't go all out in the play-offs in case you advance. Odd

At very least it's good to see all the McAvoy injury excuses that pop up for his play annually can be put to rest considering he is going full throttle in an exhibition series

Yeah I thought I stumbled onto the Canadiens board by mistake at first, but alas here we are

Love how a strong game by a player turns into a thread shitting on the player and how "times have changed". Anything more on brand for New England attitude in February?
Hard to believe “New England” sports fans want to see their player bring that type of game more often to the team that pays him, especially in the playoffs but nah can’t bring that physical attitude more gotta pace yourself!

Times have changed especially with the Bruins fanbase. It’s more excuse making than ever if that’s even possible

"beautiful day out"

"Yeah but was cold last week and this day won't last, the weather sucks like that"

Yes, ok be happy with his performance in an exhibition...

Didn't realize it was a bad thing to want to have your best defenseman up the passion and physical factor to help your team make and do well in the play-offs. I mean I was lauding his play in this tourney.

Then again this place loves them some presidents trophies so it fits the mentality

Part of it to me is he is playing with Werensky, so he can play his game without concern. If/when Hampus comes back (not that he's as good as Werensky, but he's pretty damn good) he should be paired with McAvoy as a regular thing. Let the 2nd and 3rd pairs sort themselves out without those two. It seems a shame to waste the best of McAvoy in the service of 'spreading the talent' around, which was the reason given by the coaches for not making that regular pairing.

Extremely great take, makes a load of sense.
