If someone hit one of the Bruins in the head we would be pissed.

Hopefully he won't do it again.
100 percent. Wilson hits Pasta like that and this forum would want Wilson gone for the season. 4 games for Charlie is more than fair. That type of hit can lead to very bad things and needs to be gone from the NHL. Glad the spinning wheel of justice took it easy on Charlie. I would have given him and anyone else who makes that kind of useless hit more than 4 games.

I think you’d be surprised, he’s done a few greasy things - other fanbases seem to think he’s got some dirtball in him.

I thought he made two bad hits in that game last night, both targeting the head.
Exactly. CMac had a little vinegar in him last night. He clipped Verhagy (sp) in the first pretty good.

Subban thought it should have been 5. No surprises there. The 'PK' stands for Pot and Kettle.
PJ is a buffoon. If it had been a slewfoot PJ would have critiqued his technique and given him some pointers.

wonder what happens if Lohrei plays really well until Grz is ready.....
Forbort has been very steady and Shattenkirk has looked better than expected (to me)

I don't think it was worse than a minor penalty but the dude put his head in the way at the last second.

This sucks because I was telling other Bruins fans at the game in Anaheim that this was McAvoy's Norris season.

Obviously he should have avoided the incidental contact looking back.

I agree with a lot of what has been written above; 4 seems a bit high, but so long as future hits of this nature are also given four games, then I am glad to see the NHL trying to eliminate head hits from the game.

And it was an unnecessary hit which should be punished with a suspension.

3 or 4 who cares. It was a dumb play and unnecessary. It’s early in the season with plenty of time left, they sent him a message and he probably deserved it. Would have rather seen 3 but whatever

Seems weird to nitpick between 3 and 4 games.
In my opinion, it would be nice to have some consistency, won't happen, from the DOPS. Andersson leaped and elbowed Laine in the head at the end of a game and that got 4.

What McAvoy did was reckless though, and he put his team in a bad spot not only in the game already down one defenseman but for these next 4 games too.

stupid hit. he deserves it. sit your games and move on. Lohrie anyone......
This is the only acceptable take on the hit. It was dumb. It was obvious. It deserves this suspension.

McAvoy is not a malicious person, he is a level headed young man. To me this is a case of being guilty before being innocent.
Those who feel differently, do you really think Charlie is capable of being that malicious?.
I don't!.
JMO.
Yes. absolutely. Every player can get heated and do something stupid. It's part of the game. He went in and was very clear what he was doing. Hence the shoulder raise when he was about to make contact.
