LMAO at the video. Very tough Ducks 2 vs 1 on a Oiler. Getlzaf wouldn't last vs. Lucic. Kassian however sucks at fighting
I like how people keep saying Getzlaf can't last in a fight like he's literally built out of tissue paper. Maybe Getzlaf wouldn't win against Chara or Lucic but to suggest he can't hang on? To employ this hyperbolic language and say a man of his size and strength wouldn't last in such a fight is pretty risible.

The evidence is there, one just needs to look at the video, it was late. :)

And yet the only people screaming that it's late are a handful of Boston fans.

Maybe the problem is you're watching the slow motion replay.

Spoken like a Ducks fan.

Hopefully the next time they play a Bruin will hit an ANA player in the head and not get penalized so we can see your reaction.

I guess it won’t happen until next year at the earliest because ANA would actually have to advance past the Preds for that to occur.
Will Marchand be present at the game?

Bieksa just out here finishing fights with 1 punch. Fraud my ass. He one tough dude.
He fights lesser guys, always has. Congrats for beating up punching bags, i guess. He would shy away from the Lucic's/McQuaids and try to find a Gregory Campbell or someone.

Guy's the definition of a spot picker. He even got dropped by Tom Kostopulous, arguably the worst fighter in NHL history.

The Ducks weren’t penalized on the initial hit and McQuaid most certainly would have gotten the Instigator (which didn’t seem to bother him), putting ANA on the PP, offsetting any momentum Boston would have gained by a fight win.

So, explain to me again why Ritchie wouldn’t fight...
Cause he doesn't have too in that situation... was a clean hit.

A very weak argument, size and strength don't count for anything if you don't use them.

Are you really suggesting Getzlaf doesn't use his size and strength?

Have you never seen him play hockey before? Ever? That's one of the defining characteristics of his game. He's an elite combination of size and skill, who can overpower plays while making skill plays. It's basically how any expert would describe him as a player.

He fights lots of guys his own size. I don't feel like pulling his fight card. I'll allow you to. its easy.

So where's all the ire over Chara's late hit to Henrique? If Ritchie is despicable for a supposedly late hit, are we so in favor of vigilante justice that suddenly Chara is a hero for doing it too? Vigilante retribution is what ended Steve Moore's career and that's a real slippery slope to take. If this is the stance you're gonna take, well...I'd ask you to be consistent but I really can't expect you to admit Chara shouldn't have been headhunting.

1. I never called Ritchie "despicable", I am just pointing out that the Ducks fans show their "integrity" in calling the Chara hit "late", but completely disregarding that Ritchie's hit was late. What is good for the goose, is good for the gander.

2. You guys are the strawman kings of hfboards. Never mentioned Steve Moore, never endorsed anything in the Steve Moore incident, nor any "vigilante" action. Try again.

So you mean to tell me if Getzlaf took one punch from Lucic his face would just cave in and his body would fail?

There's a difference between losing a fight and not being able to last in a fight.

We're talking about fights here, do try and keep up if you can.

So you're suggesting a 6'4" 220 lbs dude isn't going to use his size and strength in a fight?

That's even worse. What is he going to do, touch them tenderly? Breath heavily? Are we still talking about a fight?

When the captain chickens out, can't expect the foot soldier to do otherwise.

I'm still waiting for evidence that this was a hit to the head.

I've seen two claims about this hit:

1) It's late.

It isn't late. The puck had just left Backes' stick, and no one else was in possession of the puck at the time Ritchie made the hit.

2) It's a head shot.

Based on what? The replays we've seen, the ones that actually show the hit, show a good shoulder to shoulder hit. Backes got hit hard, but it was a clean hit.

The video is not great, but from this angle you can clearly see that Ritchie hit Backes in the ear hole (head). I have seen players suspended for less.

I knew you'd bring that video up, and I laugh at the notion it shows any of what you're saying.

What you're describing actually defies the laws of physics. Ritchie's shoulder would have to go through Backes' shoulder. I think it's more likely that the quality of the video is so poor that you can't clearly see anything.

Probably looks for a ref tbh.

I didn't say you said either. But the ire directed at Ritchie from your fanbase isn't a far cry off from viewing him as despicable. And members of your fanbase were calling for retaliation, so you may not have been looking for that but fans of the boys in yellow sure were. I framed my response in the context of the totality of your fanbases' reaction to the hit.

And most of us could live with the Chara hit on Henrique if it weren't for the outrage over Ritchie's hit. We don't bring it up in the hopes that people will hate on Chara. We use it to point out hypocrisy. If Ritchie's hit was late (my view is it's no different than the kind of hits defensemen take behind their goals when they clear the puck and no one bats an eye at) it was only late by perhaps the slimmest fraction over 1 second. Chara's hit to Henrique was closer to about two. So. If you guys keep banging this gong about how late Ritchie's hit is, we're going to address the fact that Chara's hit was at worst just as late as Ritchie's but in actuality, much later.

You realize bieska is pretty average hockey size, think hes 6'1 200, so hes not going to typically have the same fight card as a guy like lucic or maroon.
Absolutely, but people completely overrate his toughness because he punch a few scrubs who are god awful fighters.
