Honestly they're out performing with how terrible Flames have played since they came in. Blue line is an embarassment.

Weegar is doing his best but there's 4 guys that should be fighting for the #6 spot.

Farabee has looked good so far.

It’s how he’s been for the last seasons worth of games. Looks real good; doesn’t actually score.

He’s great on advanced stats and theoretical goals. Just not actual ones.

Frost doing what he does; flashes a highlight reel goal then goes dark for a while. Then suddenly he’ll have a 2-3 point night and then disappears for the next 5 games.

They both have talent. But it’s the same song and dance for 3 years now.

Not gonna judge both players on wins-losses but 2 pts in 8 games cant be viewed as good start. Bar is low so far for Kuzmenko and Pelletier.

Not so much into advanced stats but recent hockeystats cards were not good like at all, especially last one.

4 games each is far too small of a sample size, and they hadn't even had a practice with the team until they'd played 3 games. Both players have had scoring chances and have created scoring chances (Farabee also had a goal called back). Considering the circumstances and the heavy sked when they were acquired, there is no complaints from Flames fans about these players.

They were in fine form when traded and used to bad schedule. Except for TK, Tortorella basically runs 3 lines 14-16 mins and 4th getting 12.

Guys coming in have been idle for too long at this point and they will need time to get back to speed which is perfectly fine.

Philly has no idea what a tough schedule is like, over the course of a season the Flames travel ~10k more miles than Philly. Frost and Farabee had to played 3 game sin 4 nights, not just in different cities, but different time zones. And they are still in "fine form", but you need time to learn your linemates and their tendencies.

So Farabee is 0+1 in 8 games. Frost 2+1 in 8 games. Kuzmenko 1+2 in 4 games, Pelletier is 0+1 in 3 games.

Is the trade that bad for the Flyers? And don't forget about picks...

I said the deal was pretty even from the start. Kuzmenko can look like a bonified top 6 player, when interested. When he's not, he's almost detrimental to have on the ice. Pelletier is a wildcard. He never really got a chance to settle into the NHL on the Flames but was well liked by teammates and definitely has skill.

From a Flames perspective, I'd love to see Frost get some time with Huberdeau and natural goal scorer, like Coronato. I feel as though there skillsets would compliment each other very nicely. The problem with that is that the organization has a tendency to cling onto moderate success and is unwilling to take a step back, in order to try something different.

Frost has looked good. Even if the points haven’t come he’s been around it. I think he’s going to be a 2/3 C for a while.

Farabee has been unlucky, he should have some more points. Couple of posts, etc. but overall Farabee has really struggled IMO.

Meh. It can take players a while to get acclimated to new teams. You have to learn the system, develop chemistry, learn tendencies of teammates... etc.

The biggest issue is the best NHLer Philly got is a one dimensional winger, who’s a UFA. If they can flip him for a decent piece at the deadline the deal might look ok. Ultimately, it depends on your view of Farabee. If you view him as a bad contract, with term, then it’s a swap that makes more sense. If you think this year is a one off and he’s a ~50 point guy, it doesn’t look great, even with them getting a 2nd.

It can’t be a one off, he was this way for the entire 2nd half of last year.

This would actually be Farabee’s second season at this level. It’s like he forgot how to score.

There was a period earlier this year where he had like 8 or 9 breakaways in 7 games - yes, some games he had 2 - and didn’t score once.

Bizarre.

He still managed to put up 50 points last year though, which is a lot more than the 28 he’s pacing for this year

Yeah, because the 1st half of last year he was like 2nd or 3rd in the *league* in 5v5 points. He wasn't just on his way to being a good player, he was playing like a great player. And then the break happened and it all just stopped. Completely. I don't have the numbers here but he was on a similar pace 2nd half of last year, while near PPG the 1st half. Just fell off a cliff.

I think the Flyers held firm to see which half of Farabee would show up this year, and the 2nd half on showed up, and so they wanted to get out from him.

He could still suddenly spike back again; but I don't blame them on this deal.
