Plekanec + Beaulieu
VS
Brodie+Stajan

Brodie>>Plekanec + Beaulieu

Pleks is a good player but he's too old and expensive.
Beaulieu is a good young player but he isn't an established top 4 yet and likely peaks as a 2nd pairing D

1. Orr
2. Potvin
3. Robinson
4. Brodie
5. Lidstrom

are u crazy??? look at tj brodie's advanced stats!! They are amazing, best in the league. He's worth a lot more than any other player to the flames. He's better than players like Kane, Price, Crosby. I mean just look at the hall-larsson trade. If larsson fetches hall, brodie easily fetches crosby and major ++, maybe even malkin as a throw in along letang.

1. Brodie
2. Orr
3. Giordano
4. Hamilton
5. Lidstrom

I love brodie but if Price (even though he wouldn't be) is on the table for him you take Price and run to the hills while you watch Bergevin try to calm the mob for trading Price and Subban

You wouldn't trade Brodie for ANY goalie, not even this goalie:

Is that Jose Theodore?

It is really weird, because Price is the best player in the world at his position, and arguably, in general... But trading Brodie for anything outside of another pure 1 two-way D, would hurt.

It'd be like Montreal having traded PK for Malkin. Sweet, we just got a top 5 position player... But we just lost our best Dman.

not at all similar.
Price >>>>>> Malkin
Subban >>>>>>>> Brodie

and ofc if the flames have price they are potential play off team. Truth be told, almost any team is a playoff team with price in net^^ (for a full season)

Keeping Brodie and having faith in Elliot is a really good plan. I would never trade for Price with him coming off injury.

Yeah Brodie has a top 3 contract in the NHL right now. People on this site are still unsure about how good he really is apparently.

I love Price. He's my favourite player. But without TJ Brodie the Flames go from not good to horrible.

I'd take away a few of those >>> when you factor in Brodie's contract.

Habs >>>>>>>>>>> NHL is what I gather from your posts.

Weird, how many cups does the Russian have? I think most teams would want a prototype 1C over every other position in the game

I might be in the minority, if I'm starting a team id take Brodie in front of Subban. You get more or less similar offense looking st this past season, you get significantly better D from Brodie and you don't have to deal with the personal stuff with a rods  just me, I'm a homer.

yeah cuz saying the truth that price is better than malkin (i dont think anyone can argue that) and that subban is better than brodie (which is quite obvious) leads you to think that hahahah :handclap::handclap::handclap:

After last season I'd take Brodie over Subban
$4,650,400 vs $9,000,000
34 ESP in 70 games vs. 27 ESP in 68 games
Defensively Brodie is significantly better based on where opponents attack, defending against the rush, improving his teammates advanced stats.

Bonus points he's a year younger, and everyone in the dressing room always talks him up on the ice and quality of character. (Not to say I don't think Subban has world class character - he does and it's b.s. that it got called into question, but I don't think he has the same cohesiveness in the dressing room)

And I don't think Montreal would have ever considered trading Subban for a package similar to Plekanec + Beaulieu, so this isnt remotely close.
