After last season I'd take Brodie over Subban
$4,650,400 vs $9,000,000
34 ESP in 70 games vs. 27 ESP in 68 games
Defensively Brodie is significantly better based on where opponents attack, defending against the rush, improving his teammates advanced stats.
Bonus points he's a year younger, and everyone in the dressing room always talks him up on the ice and quality of character. (Not to say I don't think Subban has world class character - he does and it's b.s. that it got called into question, but I don't think he has the same cohesiveness in the dressing room)
And I don't think Montreal would have ever considered trading Subban for a package similar to Plekanec + Beaulieu, so this isnt remotely close.
