Nope. Not a chance in hell. No need for Pleks and while Beaulieu is a good young player, he's not as good as Brodie.

Rather just ride out Stajan's contract. While it's hardly ideal, he still contributes.

Close it down. Plekanec is turning 34 and has no value to the flames. The gap between Brodie and Beaulieu is huge.

Plekanec + Beaulieu

Brodie+Stajan

2 players on the entire Canadiens lineup I'd ever consider in a Brodie move.
1- Price. Clearly, the best goalie in the world.
2- Gally with a major ++.

Other than that. This thread is about to get pummelled.

I would consider Patches as well.

Montreal
some people just don't appreciate the humour/irony of a Desharnais, Emelin and a 2nd offer.

It was funny funny a couple of years ago, it got old quick as hell people who still this are people who wants to boost they're post count, the ryder halak and a 2nd is not funny anymore nor is the same joke including desharnais and compagnie.

Other than Price, there's not a single player or combination of players from Montreal that would get Brodie from the Flames.

The Flames have Bennett and Monahan down the middle. Galchenyuk is good but does not fill a need. The Flames contrary to poplar belief look pretty set on forwards:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Brouwer
Tkachuk - Bennett - Frolik

Bottom six will include: Chiasson, Backlund, Stajan, Ferland, Bouma, Vey, and Bollig.

They could potentially use a stop gap on left wing while Tkachuk develops, but not at the expense of an asset like Brodie.

Honestly, I cannot see the Flames making any big moves going into next season. They'll run with what they have and it's largely going to be a matter of patience. Hopefully, Tkachuk and Bennett develop, at least into 2nd liners, before players like Brouwer become ineffective with age.

I wouldn't mind seeing us take a run at one of Winnipeg's young forwards for one of our young defensemen. Other than that I agree with you though. Something like Dano for Wotherspoon could work out well for both. He's not going to play for the Jets and Wotherspoon won't play for us. Both are decent NHLers though.

This does nothing for Calgary.

Also, let's give Beaulieu one more year, montreal fans !
