Saw this picture from his interview on Ched today. Should we be a little concerned he has his own hoodie brand

He's got a big ego but that's nothing new in the world of sports.

He has the number 1 QB job for now but he's going to quickly learn that along with the glamour comes a set of high expectations. Come June, he's not the young guy coming in off the bench anymore to save a sorry ship from imploding. Now he's Captain Kirk and that means you don't mess up.

When he came into the games this past season he could be forgiven for not doing well. The expectations were that even if the EE won a couple of games it was sufficient to avoid complete and total embarassment. The fact remains that the EE have a historic losing streak at home that will probably stand for decades. Winning a few games during the season set the new bar albeit at shockingly low levels for a powerhouse that didn't miss the playoffs for 30 years.

This season he comes under the magnifying glass. Now ---its "just win baby and no excuses" because we gave you the money and the job you wanted. I think he's very talented and will probably be a success but its a short walk from the penthouse to the outhouse. We shall see.

It's a mix really. Tough to put a number on it really, but my gut would say it's around 50/50, possibly a slight edge to newer ones.

Keep in mind the old jerseys and gear have now been out of production for nearly 5 years as I doubt many bought gear in the cancelled season. So slowly peoples clothing gets updated except those who have a traditional "uniform" that they've been wearing sometimes for decades.

There did seem to be a decent amount of this year's 3rds in the crowd as they were a decent looking jersey up close even though the numbers didn't present nicely on TV.
I got 10 to 12 items that all say 'Eskimos' on them for $200 when they were selling them off. I have enough Eskimo branded clothes to last at least a decade.

Cody is a good person and teammate from what I’ve read. But Horribad as a QB. Depends what you want him to be as a mentor.
I mean he did help the Als win the GC last year and they had a great record again this year, he has his limitations, but as far as CFL QB's go he is serviceable and a step up from the guys we've had surrounding Ford in the past. Basically just show him how to be a good pro and leader, don't think Ford has had that yet as far as a QB role model.

If the money is right, would be a good backup and mentor.

From starting QB Grey Cup game hero and then starting QB for team with best record in the league this past year to a backup. Quite the fall from grace, but then, I really didn't think he was that good to begin with.

He always seemed to play better with Ford in the lineup. Which makes sense when you have a mobile QB at the helm, gives the D more to worry about.

I like the player, but need way more usage and production out of him for that kind of money. Edit: That’s probably total money for the two years, thought it was per year when I first read it.
I certainly wish Kevin Brown all the best in Toronto. When the EE hit their ugly nadir and things couldn't get any worse he still came to play and performed very well. He was one of the few bright spots left on the team. It's a shame that he is moving on but with such a tight cap there was no way that you could keep all 3 guys. So again, all the best to him and thanks for his contributions in such a tough situation that was marred by Jone's managerial incompetence.

Glad to hear that Rankin and Leake are both returning. I also hope that Leake will be on the kick return teams to end the decade long drought.

Now to sign some receivers.

Brown not continuing on the team was kind of inadvertently outed when Ford in his initial contract extension presser credited Leake and Rankin and there was no mention of Brown. Figured he was out at that point and we just hadn't heard anything yet. As @MoontoScott mentions Brown was a light in the dark initially, now surpassed by Rankin and Leake. Tough business, pro sports. Wish Brown luck, he's hampered by injuries.

Need to use him nearly exclusively on returns ahead of anyone else and put him in to spell Rankin for the running game. He kind of reminds me of Deebo Samuel of the 49ers, in that he is a dangerous receiver as well.

And I'll chime in, all the best to Kevin Brown. He was a light during some dark times, but unfortunately got caught in a numbers game this year, and injuries didn't help. And quite frankly, he got outperformed by Rankin.

For sure. I'm a fairly resistant consumer. None of that false leader was going to sell to me. Make my own interpretation and I'm not swayed by the marketing, which seemed infantile. I'd still be wearing my Eskimos Jersey, just how I roll with that.

At Commonwealth do people wear tons of the new Jerseys or older ones as well. Just curious.
When the Riders are in town to play the Schmoes, real fans wear Kelly green!!

Watching the first half of the Army v Navy college football game, makes me wonder…

How do these defensive lineman pass through basic training? I thought you had to be lean, mean fighting machines to be an infantryman?

The fans didn't and don't want MBT. It's why we were all chanting "We Want Ford" at numerous games. The fanbase had no confidence in him.
MBT might be able to limp the team along to a .500 record (maybe), but it does absolutely nothing to inspire the fans. LT is trying to built a team for the future, engage fans, old & new, and create a buzz about the team. MBT is about as exciting as watching my neighbour paint his fence.

Ford might not be the second coming of Tracy Ham or Ricky Ray, but he also might be. At the end of the day, he was the best option available to the Elks.

Exactly! Ford's first start of the year and you see that it lit a spark under the defense and special teams.
