6’1 speedy playmaking C with lethal shot and 2way abilities vs 5’10 W who’s not a great skater, has some character issues and prisoner of Roman Rotenberg?

Well, if I wanted to please twitter-scouts, I would go with Michkov
If I wanted to build a contender, I’m with Celebrini
Celebrini is 5’11.75 and since Michkov didn’t attend the combine, I’d say he is likely 5’8-5’9 like the vast majority of players listed at that height.

Regardless it's a consensus ranking derived from professional scouts, not his personal opinion.
Again, its a ranking based on Michkov not being in the NHL until 2027 if at all. The fact that he was 5th with that caveat is incredible. Every one of those scouts had Michkov as a top 2 player in that draft

Not sure what you two are failing to understand. If there's no contract, he's 1st or 2nd, period.

If say Fantilli or Leo were in Russia with a 3 year contract, do you think they would be top 10 picks?

Regardless it's a consensus ranking derived from professional scouts, not his personal opinion.
Will Smith was 4th on all of those lists...... BECAUSE of the contract. We're seeing the difference between Michkov and Smith right now as players both on their rookie years

Smith has played all of 6 pro games for the worst team in the league, let's update again in a couple of years. He'll be a big part of the rebuild in SJ.

Actually the only joke here is you, he absolutely is capable of putting up those types of numbers in his peak, he was rated as high as Bedard in his draft year, and I think if he had of been Canadian he could have gone #1 and I've seen him play plenty from highlights, sadly he just over here this year but I ll bet this year he scores at a PPG, and he has the potential to hit 120 points a year at his peak. Will he? I'm not sure but the potential is there, you to even deny that shows your own ignorance and bias.
Potential….if if if if if……sure I guess anything can happen.

That "one random guy" you keep talking about was Mckenzie... The guy you are quoting for your agenda. Please learn and understand that draft rankings have nothing to do with draft talent and who the best player is. You must be slow to not understand this after 5 people explained it to you. Michkov went 5th due to having a 3 year contract and being in russia, a lesser prospect would have went to the 4th or 5th rounds like Kaprizov and Kucherov. McKenzie had him 5th DUE to these factors and stated several times he was the 2nd best player in the draft, dolt.
You seem angry. You ok? It’s just a hockey player bud. You seem to have something else going on in your life or maybe nothing going on. Mental health is important. Maybe it’s time to lay on a couch and talk to someone.

Michkov is more offensively gifted than Celebrini, I'm not sure what the argument with that is? I mean Celebrini has high potential but I don't see him on the same level offensively, we'll see as they progress. It would be hilarious to see the voters on this thread, I bet I can guess who's hard voting Celebrini out of emotion.

Cool...

Michkov played alll of 7 games in the NHL for the second worst team in the league, his first 7 games in NA and has put up a PPG.

Smith isn't on Michkovs level and no one ever thought he was.

Soo. you get owned and proven wrong then just switch gears and try to get personal seems about right, good ole political playbook.

The scouts you're quoting all had Michkov the 2nd best player. Rankings don't mean best player when one player is under contract for 3 years, dork.

I have Michkov above Bedard, let alone Celebrini. But each of them is exceptional in their own way and definitely a tier above the likes of Smith and Fantilli.

Michkov has many elite qualities, but what particularly sets him apart as a prospect is his offensive hockey sense and compete. Very smart, very driven, very self-critical, hard worker, student of the game. You can see how much he cares. If he was faster he'd be McDavid.

Who cares where Michkov was ranked if he effectively told teams he doesn't want to play for them?
That's a big IF at this point. Looks like that has proven to be Montreal misinformation like many thought in order to tame a rowdy fanbase. Michkov's team said they didn't turn down any interviews and only failed to interview with one team in the Coyotes due to scheduling issue.
