Putting Kucherov at #9 is absolute insanity. If you think there are 8 players better than Kucherov, let alone 8 wingers, you are out of your mind. And the sheer disrespect people are giving to Patrick Kane is none sense.

I love Matthew Tkachuk, but he’s just not on the same tier as the guys I would put in my top 5.

1.) Nikita Kucherov
2.) Kirill Kaprizov
3.) Mitch Marner
4.) Jonathan Huberdeau
5.) Johnny Gaudreau

He could make a case for arguably the 2nd best winger in the state of Florida.

He still may not be.

Kucherov at 9 and no Panarin? I'm shocked Ovi didn't make the list. Although he probably shouldn't.
Ovy absolutely should. He scored 50 goals yet again. Just because he does it every year for a decade and a half doesn’t make it less of an accomplishment.

Precisely why we should just ignore this thread (by that I mean his list) and move on. Guy is trying to get a name for himself by being controversial since being a good hockey journalist clearly didn't work. This is so far off it can only be intentional. Let's not give him what he wants.

While I don't think it's valid to only look at points per game, I think in this case doing so gives a pretty good ranking actually.

#1 Kucherov 1.47
#2 Huberdeau 1.44
#3 Gaudreau 1.40
#4 Marner 1.35
#5 Kaprizov 1.33
#6 Panarin 1.28
#7 Tkachuk 1.27
#8 Rantanen 1.23
#9 Forsberg 1.22
#10 Kane 1.18

It's better than the list this guy got paid to do at least.

Not really but it ignores Marner is an elite two way winger and elite penalty killer. He's not just a skilled winger he is a complete player who impacts both ends of the ice.

I’d take that a step further and say he’s the best forward in the game as well. Absolute superstar and generational. Arguably better than MacDavid for sure. Totally not carried by Johnny Hockey

Are we sure the writer of the article didn't post this just to get people to read the shit article and then rage about it? Don't read the article is my suggestion.
The classic Steve Simmons and Damien Cox strategy.

They have made a living out of that here I Toronto....

Koochie boy still proved to be the best winger bud

and Pastrnak had a better season than either of them

61 goals and 113 points with nobody else on his team even hitting 70 points and only 1 guy other than him even hitting 60

I always have a hard time with ranking players, but you can't deny that going into the season you could make a case for the guy.

As an Oiler fan it was always a love hate with the guy, but even when I hated the guy you had to give him credit. 31 teams fanbases might hate the guy, but whichever one he is on will love him.

YA dude has shown his value and is great but the best winger in the NHL? That is HIGHLY debatable.

Note: and I mean even today a full season after the article.
