I do love the opinion polls. The collectivist methodology is their appeal. What I loathe is the constant second-guessing. Getting a collective opinion is the point, people!

SECOND-GUESSING IS IRRELEVANT. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

But the collective opinion is valueless because you are all morons. So expressing my Enlightened Viewpoint (which you should all bow to) is really my selfless attempt to inject value into an otherwise pointless thread series. Really, you should be thanking me.

Oh, and while you're at it, ban all those other losers who try to do the same thing. They're also morons.

Disclaimer: the only true morons here are the ones who thought this is a serious post. ;)

Cam turned 24 in June before the end of the playoffs. The criteria says a guy is a prospect till he plays 65 games (according to CapGeek he's played 62) or until after the season of his 24th birthday. Guess it depend if season includes playoffs?

Erixon is still a prospect the way I read the criteria as is Prout.

You mean so we can have thread after thread where some posters tell the rest of the forum that isn't where they'd put player X? The selectively use the subsequent HF prospect ranking update to validate their position or bsh it for agreein with the voting? Oh, joy.

Samkow usually starts those late-July or early-August. Last year's first poll was posted July 30.

Tell us how you really feel ;)

I don't know the players well enough to contribute much to the order, but I can look at the list and recognize that we are finally getting some depth and talent in the prospect pool. From everything that I have read I suspect Bjorkstrand, Moutrey and Soberg are significantly underrated today. That will change in the next cuppla years.

IMO Dano, Golo, and Heatherington should be ahead of Savard, Chaput and Sedlak. The upside is pretty limited for both Chaput and Sedlak, and they have a ways to go to even reach that.

I agree, Moutrey is a big 6'3 212lb skilled power forward with soft hands, good vision, strong skater, NHL shot, hits hard and plays with an edge. He didn't get a lot of accolades playing on a weaker OHL team but many are
predicting that he will have a break out year offensively. Sources say he impressed at the development camp and is just as good as any of the first round picks. Watch him play closley and you will see his high hockey IQ and his high ceiling of potential. Time will tell!

While i agree those 3 should be ahead i feel Chaput should get a little more love. I think the kid made some pretty good progression this year. Especially when the NHL started back up and he was more relied upon. He'll be a good 3rd liner in the NHL someday, problem for him is we are stacked there which is probably why hes not thought about as being a real part of our future. Kind of the same for Sedlak he'll be a 3rd or 4th line high energy guy but minimal offense so that should very easily be below Dano

Exactly, Dano was a top 10 scorer in the WJC. He should easily be above most of our prospects..

My top 10 is a little different, but I'm not going to pretend to be a better judge of prospects than Macster.
1. Ryan Murray
2. Boone Jenner
3. Alexander Wennberg
4. Tim Erixon
5. Kerby Rychel
6. Marko Dano
7. Anton Forsberg
8. Oscar Dansk
9. Cody Goloubef
10. Dillon Heatherington

Golobef has shown he can play at the NHL level. Same with Erixon, but I think Wennberg has bigger upside. I've always been a big fan of Forsberg. Dano has boom or bust written all over him.
