Great news. It is a new day. You're witnessing competency, folks. The man has a plan.

Richards probably ought to be stashing all the cash he probably can.

The timing could not be better. Let him get in and get acquainted with the personnel before draft/trade deadline.

The front page of TSN looks sweet. I think I am going to have to buy the Dispatch tomorrow.

Props to the guys who made the fan protest happen...both guys shown the door in a little over a year.

This is completely ****ing absurd. Priest is still part of the organization, and that protest still accomplished little beyond embarrassing this fanbase.

You set people on fire. That will be a job on the payroll.

Excellent.

I have a feeling having JD here is going to be like having Urban Meyer in Columbus. Fans are going to have a tough time adjusting to greatness and winning.

Next thing you know, we'll be in the Eastern Conference and in the playoffs next year.

Richards will be next, however he will prolly finish the season

I agree. 1)if we bring in a new coach now, we might play better(would be great if we made the playoff's) but if we don't, we just end up with a crappier 1st round pick. By keeping Richards, we might be a lottery team. 2)Wait until the season is over and see if other teams fires their coaches. Might beable to pick up a good coach. Now you might think, if a coach is fired, how can they be good then. They could be good but with the same players, once you preach the same thing over and over, get's old for the players. By preaching to new players, your game plan might work again.

There's no point in firing Richards now. Let the guy finish the season and let him go quietly the day after the season ends. There will be plenty of candidates at that point.

Happy about the move like most of the people around these parts. I'm not that surprised by the move as the scouting/hockey ops staff just recently completed. This likely signaled to JD that Howson wasn't where he wanted him to be in regards to scouting/player evaluation or some other major area of his GM duties.

Looking forward to a new GM who is more aggressive and has a better grip on player development and scouting rather than being a "capoligist"
