How do we know banned sources?

When they show up as a bunch of *****s.

Is there a list of banned/censored sources for posters to refer to? Seems like people don't know its banned until they see the asterisks after they hit "submit post".

Sorry, none exists. A good indicator is twitter followers. If a guy with 50 followers is claiming a bunch of breaking news, it's probably fake.

And after the best CBJ game of the season too....

JD is not waiting around to change the culture... I have a GM in mind, the same one I wanted 5 years ago when Howson was hired. Barring a playoff run I doubt Richards will be around next season either.

I'll also add that in what seems to be a world of Howson apologists vs. the Fire Howson activists, I merely thought he was mediocre. I don't think he's a bumbling idiot like a lot of HF (not singling out this board, I mean all of HF) thinks, but I also don't think he was up to snuff. I'm excited that JD is looking to improve, and improvement means finding the best, not settling with passable.
100% agree.

I always thought of him as a mediocre GM with bad luck and terrible starting material. I'm hoping we get a good/great GM or at least an average GM who has some luck. Anything else is just moving in place.

Obviously John Davidson wasn't here yet but what if we had just fired Howson before the whole thing with Nash? Oh well, that's water under the bridge. Priest probably would have just ended up hiring Burke.

This needed to be done; just a little surprised by the timing of it, as I was thinking it would happen at the end of the season. I'm envisioning a complete turnover of the coaching and scouting areas by the time next season begins, though.

The only thing I'm wondering right now is what becomes of Prospal. He was re-signed for one year (with NTC) and a handshake agreement to step into a front office role once he retired.

Would that still be honored?

What about Chris Clark? He's settled his family down here and what not but just recently became a development coach. Also all those scouts Howson just hired?

Aside from having to go in early tomorrow to fire someone :)() I have all day tomorrow to absorb any news that comes out. So, selfishly, thanks JD for doing this today.

I would sincerely hope so.

I hope so with him too. I like Chris.

I seem to remember Patrick saying that he likes not having to travel much and simply be in an advisory role. I don't think he would want the job.

Jarmo Kekelainen would be a coup. An absolute coup. When JD was hired I had a thought about Jarmo joining the staff, but thought it was wishful thinking because JK seemed to want to be home in Finland once he left St. Louis. Maybe he simply wanted to be the man in charge, and maybe the draw of being an NHL GM with a former associate as the boss would sway him back to the NHL.

And I may be mistaken, but if Kekelainen was named GM, I think he would be the first Euro GM, no?[/QUOTE]
Mackenzie tweeted that he thinks he would be the first. Doesn't believe Anders Hedberg was a official GM.

Handshake agreements are worth approximately the value of the paper they are printed on.

Its too bad our ownership was stupid enough to let him trade Nash. I have to think JD would like to have Nash back to build around

9 years of constantly deferring to "what's best for Rick Nash" is a large reason for what we've seen. In terms of depth and actual talent, the team is better off with the return for Nash than what keeping him around would have meant.
