True, but if they hadn't lost that fumble deep in Notre Dame territory halfway through the 4th, they would have been up 3 scores and nobody would be talking about it. Turnovers are so big in current football. Back in the 70's, you would watch game highlights and routinely a team would have 5 or 6 turnovers in a game, it was not a big surprise. 50 years ago in 1975, the January 1 bowls had an average of 7 turnovers

It just felt like they took their foot off the gas pedal there in the 4th. Yeah the fumble by Emeka was a dagger in putting more points on the board. Either way the closed the game out and won the natty.
