Confirmed with Link: CBJ acquires Luke Kunin from San Jose for 2025 4th (STL)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I haven't watched a game since the outdoor one, so I have no idea how Kunin has looked like, but he has some pretty stellar numbers for a 4th liner with barely any o-zone starts. 1.45 GA/60 (that's best in the team, though it's only 1GF and 2GA so pretty meaningless), 55% CF and 64% xGF ... by the numbers, he looks like a freaking rock star 4th liner and if you compare Kuraly w/ & w/o Kunin his numbers get a huge boost.

Does he really look that bad out there or is it just a case of expecting him to help the team in a bigger role? But his career high is 31 points, scored ages ago, so why would you expect that?

I watched him a bit closer last night and he did seem to make things happen a few times and looked like a respectable 4th liner. I think it's just been that he hasn't generated any goals or assists, so hopefully that changes. The first couple of games he looked out of sync too, but that is to be expected I guess.

I don’t think he’s very good and have piled into the commentary on him but I do think some of this has to do with people wanting more from the deadline and placing the blame on him for it. I imagine if Fischer was in the lineup he’d get similar gripes, although not as bad since we didn’t lose anything acquiring him.

That, and of course, a better player being left out of the lineup (chinakhov) to play him.

Kunin has actually been making plays the last couple games, I don't hate him in that role. Early it was like he was playing without a brain, maybe adrenaline trying to prove something?
