Whoa, wait a second. Carter's production is going to cool off? Isn't that the EXACT same criticism that's been levied against Kopitar, who disappears in December?
I think the real issue is that Kopitar and Brown shouldn't play together. They both like to hold on to the puck, but don't have anyone on the inside to create scoring opportunities.
The Kings won 2 Cups with Kopitar and Brown on the same line. The entire run in 2012, and most, if not all, of 2014. The guy that was going to the inside to create scoring opportunities in 2014 was Gaborik. I doubt he scored more than 2 of his 14 playoff goals outside of 5 feet from the net.
14 goals in 26 playoff games; and one of the principal reasons we won one of our two Stanley Cup championships in the entire history of the existence of this team, for which I have suffered through most of 50 years of it.
The contract is more than worth that. 'Nuff said.
Sorry the game didn't go your way... but I had such a great time! L.A. Live is fantastic (and so is Smashburger holy crap). It was such a thrill to see an NHL game in a different city for the first time.
And Fanpics... omg. WE NEED THIS FOR EVERY PRO SPORTS TEAM EVER.
Jackets fan in peace. Is Clifford ok? I didn't see the rest of the game (I forgot how rough these West Coast swings are lol) so I don't know if he played more but he looked a little dazed when he got up. As someone who has had many concussions myself I'd hate to hear he suffered any kind of trauma.
Fingers crossed - haven't read anything about a problem. I guess we'll see if he's in the lineup tomorrow
I have a simpler explanation. Keep in mind I didn't watch yet, but
Is it possible that the team simply didn't have enough in the tank in the third after playing three games in four nights with travel, including a buttload of fights?
I mean, still sounds like we played well enough until the third...
I thought the Kings would struggle again with out Voynov, but Martinez, Muzzin, and McNabb have really stepped up this season. I thought Forbort really played solid, and deserves to play more games. If they only can get Gaborik, Pearson, Shore to chip in more, and Doughty to take more snap shots and less slap shots, may by he might actually hit the net.
What do you expect to say? Gaborik and Brown's contracts are awful.
The Kings are generally known for getting great deals out of younger players who become star players, but DL always seems to overpay for established players.
Toffoli and Carter (we inherited this contract) are underpaid.
Brown and Gaborik are vastly overpaid with term.

Look at the term for Brown, Gaborik, and Martinez.
Sadly, I think Clifford might be expendable soon. King is coming back and Mersh is in the wings. If Lucic re-signs, who goes? Clifford and his 1.6 million.
Brown, Lucic, Pearson, King will be the top 4 LW'ers.
I was at the game last night. The one player that stuck out to me was Lucic. He was completely ineffective, like he was skating in mud, and he mishandled every puck that came his way. Very disappointing.
Sutter likes to play Shore to much for my liking. The kid is not ready for full NHL duties , he hasn't shown anything this year nor last.

I absolutely will. That was not only the best week I've had all year, it was also one of the best weeks of my entire life. Your city treated me so, so well. All the driving fears I had before the trip were pretty much vanished by week's end... it really wasn't that bad at all. If anything, it was excellent driving experience and it means I can handle pretty much anything traffic-wise here now.Glad you had such a good time. LA is a great city, I hope you come back!
