Time to put him through waivers and give Hughes a chance and let Dobes handle the bulk of starts in Laval. If he somehow gets claimed, Cavallin can fill in as back-up to Dobes.

Was hoping Primeau could build off of last year and become at least a decent back-up, however he has shown nothing to give the team any confidence in him.

Absolutely brutal performance against Buffalo. Whatever he had going on last season hasn't continued on to this one. Not looking like a competent NHL goaltender right now.

So far I just have no faith in the Reinbacher pick, and we LUCKED into Demidov so that was a no-brainer. Yeah we will have to wait and see its going to take a few more years
“Luck” 4- Teams chose to pass on Demigod.

Redenbacher was Laval’s best Dman by a country mile end of last season at 19 yes of age … “no faith”?

I have “no faith” Michkov will ever understand “how to actually play the game of hockey” ..

holy crap I didnt realize it was this bad
The worst part is his saves %.

One thing i disagree with many people here is that it's acceptable to have a saves % lower than 900 because the defense is bad. Bad defense will allow more high danger scoring chances but also more shots. So if a bad defense allows 40 shots a game then the goalies can give 4 good goals on high danger scoring chances and still have a saves % of 900. If a defense is good it will allows less high danger scoring chances but also less shots. So if that defense allows 20 shots a game the goalie has no margin and just allowing 2 goals will result in a saves % of 900.

There's currently among the goalies with 7 games played a great total of 40 goalies with a better saves % than Primeau. Lot of them play for bad defense too. A saves % of 845 is simply not acceptable no matter how good or bad your defense is. It's simply not good enough for the NHL. Personally i would not be patient more than 3-4 other games such bad goaltending can defnitely have an impact on dev and Primeau is now old enough it's not worth being patient anymore.

His stats are terrible... 0.845 and 4.67 GAA this season through 7 games. HIs career stats are just as shit though, 0.887 and 3.63 GAA in 51 games. Brutal.

He gave up 66 goals against in 23 games last year, and is already at 29 goals against in 7 games this year. Another regressing player.

I have a feeling that they’re done with him. There’ll be a vet coming soon. Not sure what they can do with him though. I doubt anyone wants him.

That creates issues in Laval though unless one of the Laval goalies gets promoted.
Exactly. I know some have suggested Hughes as a call up, but I’m not sure on that. He’s looked solid but that’s a small sample size. Plus his experience is only in the Swiss league. I’d prefer they grab a vet for the rest of the year. Again though. Where does Primeau go? Maybe a future considerations trade?

We can audition Hughes for two games over two weeks using our 23rd roster slot on the two game days.
