That would beg the question of why he was playing his second game in a row and third in a week last night.

Because like all other players at this time of year play with nagging injuries. I’m sure there are more than a few on the Habs that are banged up and still playing.

He’s day to day, no big issue. They have a more than capable backup who can fullback in.

That's assuming it's a minor injury. The way he looked on Saturday night maybe there was something bothering him though and if it effects his play, would think they would let him rest before the injury is aggravated.

No reason to believe it isn’t minor and they are letting him rest. Thus, he isn’t going to TO.

Much to do about nothing.

If Allen continues this level of play for the rest of the season, there is no way Seattle passes up on him I would imagine. A fringe starting goalie at $2.875M for two years? Arguably a starter
He has always been more of a 1b goalie, more than just fringe IMO. He works well with the other goalie in a tandem. Really depends on what other goalies are available to the Kraken I guess.

Rolling your ankle looks a lot like breaking it

Don't remind me! did that a long time ago,the orthopedic surgeon said it was only the skin keeping the foot on, no bone broken though so I guess.....:thumbu:

After witnessing Price’s career/salary at his age of 33? Soon to be 34? We are f***ing doomed.

Yeah I did the same not too long ago. Thought it was rolled/sprained walked home and had to spend the next day in the emergency room to find out it was broken.

You could walk? lucky for you! within 30 seconds from the knee down everything had doubled in size, the foot was just flapping around like a flag in the wind, still remember the sound it made, can laugh about now though. Best of luck and get it healed properly and don't skimp on the physio.

Well, Primeau had the best GAA and SA% of any Montreal goalie last season, so maybe it isn't a bad thing.

We'll see if he's back in a week or so.

Because playing with a nagging injury is an everyday reality of professional hockey players?
Are you saying that goaltenders can/should play with the same type injuries as any other player?

Ehhh I have the nagging suspicion that Price's days are numbered.

Between his multiple "outages" in the past few years and what Waite's said about an injured body... And the acquisition of a guy like Allen it doesn't bode too well I think.

Not sure how those contracts work so I imagine that Price would fight as much as he can (from a paycheck and competitor's pov) to complete his contract, but if I was Montreal I'd probably try to find a way to LTIR him by force if the recurring injury is slowing down his play and forcing him out.

Probably not this year but I'm guessing the timing with Primeau might work out better than expected

I hope we see Allen for 5 straight games. At least we'll get good goaltending.

Something has to give, Primeau is ready to play in the NHL. One of the vets will be gone next season, I'd think.

I like Chiarot but out of that 3, he’s the one I’d prefer us losing.

Protect

Weber
Petry
Edmundson

Romanov is exempt
Seattle is not taking Kulak

Like you said, they easily replaceable

X-Factor would be Bergevin acquiring a quality asset before this TDL, which could change the list of protection candidates.

Any chance Primeau gets a game or would they throw in Lindgren if Price is gone a while? Would love to see Primeau play.

Not really. We have Allen, Primeau and Lindgren. Forget the superstar goalie like Hasek, Brodeur and Roy. Many teams won the Cups without those mentioned. A lot of goalies have a hot streak and that's enough. The rest of the team is important.
If you want to do something that might work, pray at Oratoire St-Joseph step by step to the top.
