After tonight...

McDavid is now second in points-per-game with 1.64, surpassing MacKinnon and only behind Kucherov's 1.7; first in even-strength-points per game, surpassing MacKinnon; third in league scoring, and 13 points behind Kuchy for the Art Ross with six games in hand.

I think he'll win it again.

EDIT: For reference, yesterday he was 18 points back of Kucherov.

Honestly feels like this team is capable of playing loosey goosey offensive hockey or tight defensive hockey with limited offense the last little while. But they aren’t really capable of playing both in the same game. I guess its an improvement from previous years where we rarely saw any measured defensive game.

I think a good portion of their problems would be fixed if they just worked hard and skated hard. But it’s not consistent. See lots of entitled play.
Kind of concerning that our last two W's are the one where Kane scores a hat trick and this one where McD puts the club on its back. Not getting the solid defending we were seeing before, and while not a problem tonight its going the wrong way in terms of team structure.

Tonight we were playing an out of conference club that doesn't face us often and doesn't appear to have a clue how to play us. Wings thought they could trade chances.....lets see how that goes.

Imagine if we weren’t getting screwed out of PPs all season. He’d probably already be tied with Kuch.

They got some scoring depth though--even f***ing Ceci got a goal.

At least the story isn't that we lean hard on the PP

Not getting solid defending and getting nothing from depth players unless they're attached to one of McDavid or Draisaitl, these issues extend well before the ASB by the way. This is not a winning formula in terms of true Cup contention.

Something about that blendering really got Detroit on their heels or unfocused in their own end. So credit due.
Another topic closed, there was no time to respond.

Just so as not to leave you without an answer:

Boston Bruins, Anaheim Ducks, Pittsburgh Penguis, Colorado Avalanche.

It has a little to do with when cable TV arrived here and started showing some NHL games (very few, true) on TV, in the 90s, Penguins had Mario and Jagr, there was the Avalanche phase with Sakic, and so on.
